A Closer Look at Joel Embiid's Injured Foot

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Haven't seen someone dunk as ferociously and easily on a hoop as Dwight Howard does until now. The quickness and explosiveness that he dunks the basketball at that size is just mind boggling.

Have you ever watched a Clippers game?

I can't figure out what it is. Is like the ball comes through the net like a missile and hits the ground before your mind can even process it. I don't know if that's strength or speed, some kind of super human mix, or what? I just can't recall ever seeing it before. Dwight comes to mind but Embiid makes it look even more effortless. It's like the dunking equivalent in terms of beauty of a Steph Curry/Ray Allen jump shot.

dunk contest winner as a rookie?

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Embiid's averages if you take his numbers and stretch them out to wiggins' minutes:

15.9 points per game
11.5 rpg
2.0 apg
3.7 bpg
1.3 spg

You forgot the 4.8 fouls he'd average, which means he'd basically foul out of almost every game he played Wiggins' minutes in.

So what if he fouls out? The damage has already been done at that point :chuckles:

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

He's a young center being picked high in the draft. He's going to foul out of some games. Oden had the same issue, but you could see his potential every time he played. He just didn't get to play enough to work through his fouling issue due to his knee issues.

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything anyone tweets right now, even the Cavs mouthpieces. I doubt the Cavs are going to come right out and say who they're picking. There's really no point to doing so.

This is what I'm holding on to now. The drama around the Cavs pick last year was so intense that even David Stern played it up himself to the very last second.

Wouldn't be surprised if David Griffin is trying to take it to the next level, especially if he keeps saying he is "entertaining" the idea of trading the pick. Hopefully trying to keep mystery and value high.

I agree. Just is demoralizing to read stuff like that.

I've been open to nearly every draft pick, since the prospects were much weaker, especially last year.

But passing on Embiid seems cruel and unusual, even for Cleveland fans. :chuckles:

Haha I'd go with wreckage, 16/12/2 with 5 stocks a game in only 32 minutes is fucking insane.

Fouling too much is a correctable flaw, I'm not too concerned with it knowing how aggressive he plays. I'll take a player that's picking up fouls at a high rate if he's also sending back opponent's shots too.

Also worth noting that not giving away who we want to pick (and in fact actively putting out that we will pick all three guys through different outlets) both increases the value of our pick and decreases the value of the next two picks. If a team is in love with Jabari Parker, they have to trade with us because we might take him first. The same goes with Embiid. And Wiggins too.

I don't think we're trading the pick, but misdirection only makes the offers we might get better.

To add to that I am sure national media or other teams are not taking notice of the "Joe Lulls, Amicos" types tweets. The Cavs ever since Grant left no one seems to know anything... I think Grant was a little lose with knowledge. Unless Woj who I only actually trust the most with factual Information I am not going to lose sleep over these tweets.

You think Grant was a little loose with knowledge? Seriously? No one ever knew what the fuck we were doing with Grant in charge.
