Gortat got 5 years 60 million. I think you can expect Monroe's market value will be 15 million a year now.
I would love this. Unrealistic as of now but I can dream.
Monroe
Bennett or T.T
LeBron
Wiggins
Kyrie.
My god not sure we could add Monroe with out some Major moves but I would like him more than Love because we have more scoring than we need. We would need a big banger and he would fit this team perfect.
He may be too low post oriented for the system we want to run.
Even if we wanted Greg we can't afford him now anyway.
The Cavs can easily afford Monroe. If the trade for Love doesn't go through, Monroe may be plan B.
Oh you just looked at a name and said if we can't get that big time superstar player in Kevin Love we can EASILY get that notch below Greg Monroe player who is not on the same level of Kevin Love..The Cavs can easily afford Monroe. If the trade for Love doesn't go through, Monroe may be plan B.
LOL I wouldn't trade Bennett straight up for Monroe.
Just throwing this out there as an idea (which I'll probably get crucified for):
Cavs Get:
Greg Monroe (S&T at ~13.5M)
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Detroit Gets:
Anthony Bennett
Dion Waiters
John Lucas
Erik Murphy
We get Monroe who we can plug in at C, with TT starting at PF (and AV as a 6th man backing up both spots). We give up Waiters at SG, but get back Caldwell-Pope - who is not as talented as Waiters, but is a better fit to our system (better defender, and a solid pick-and-pop) guy. Detroit gets AB, who fits in pretty nicely as a stretch threat next to Drummond - they also save money this year on Monroe's salary, when they are rebuilding anyway.
Cavs then continue to build by signing Ray Allen to a vet min contract (to further back up SG), and either Okafor/Oden (to provide another big, and some fouls at Center). I think this leaves us a bit weak at PG, so we might have to make another minor trade to get a reasonable backup there.
