I would love to see Greg Monroe in a Cleveland uniform next season. If we're able to re-sign Spencer Hawes, Monroe would fit perfectly next to him. We'd have two of the best passing bigs in the NBA and both can stretch the floor, which is exactly what we need from our front court.

What are our chances of getting Monroe in free agency? We have the cap space to make it happen. He'd probably cost around 50 million over 4 years. I think it's a little overpay but we have to spend big at one point if we want to win.

If you plan on having Monroe and Hawes, then either TT or AB or both are out the door.

If we sign Greg Monroe, I might just give up on this team altogether until something drastic happens with the organization.

I have no clue where you're getting the idea that he can stretch the floor.

I assume TT would be included in the S&T. Bennett would come off the bench and get minutes at the 3 and 4.

We've already seen Bennett at the 3 and he's terrible. Keep him at one position and let him develop, quit dicking around with the kid. Also, Monroe and Hawes would be the softest set of big men defensively in the league, especially if you consider how much both of them together will cost. Combine that with our guards who love to allow penetration and you're talking about a remedy for some terrible defense. And quit forgetting that he is a RFA. It's going to take a major, major overpay to get the guy to leave Detroit.

Rather give Hawes 10 than Monroe the max + possible assets.

If they sign Greg Monroe, we'll just be a Kings-Pistons hybrid from hell. Not interested.

I'd rather have Monroe get rid of Bennett, and Thompson, and draft capela who looks like the best defensive prospect aside from Embiid. He's also 19. He's gonna move up when teams see him.

I don't think so. Capela could be an all defense teamer. Monroe is close to an all star. Going forward we'd have 50 win potential given kyrie is so dominant. Detroit doesn't have a kyrie. If you add kyrie to the pistons they are a force. As we will be.

we would have some of the same problems we have now. Monroe is a bad defender especially when he has to guard PFs (Zack Lowe wrote a good article about that before the season) and he's not a good floor spacer. that also sums up why i'm not a fan of going after him, his best position is Center imo and unless you can pair him with Ibaka (good luck finding someone like him) you're always gonna struggle on defense. it's just tough to build a great D when your Center doesn't protect the rim and is weak defensively...

Monroe is a disaster waiting to happen and the definition of empty stats.

Good timing.

Pistons just allowed the Sixers to score 61 points in the first half and there is still ~ 2 minutes left

Yeah he is a weaker version of Al Jefferson. Great post moves, terrible D.

The bobcats have a top 10 defense with al Jefferson. It's been done. you can defend with a poor defensive center. Who would have thunk it? Griffin, bring me monroe. Play Delly. Instant play offs.
