All the apes were looking up and paying attention to their leader, it looked to be as if Koba did it so quickly no ape actually saw it or registered because of their fear of him. I think Koba was followed because of said fear, its unheard of to kill another ape, he did it right in front of them plus I think they were already jumpy with humans there that it was the easy thing to immediately place blame on them.
Don't you see the contradiction? Either they saw who did it, or they didn't.
it's not just the strongest ape they follow, if that was the case they would follow one of the gorillas but Caesar is the smartest.
Caesar expressly said "strongest", and it was verified repeatedly that dominance was established solely through physical combat alone. Nothing else, and that was true even though Caesar was wounded by a gun. The gorillas are the plot hole.
All that being said, it was still a decent popcorn movie, but far inferior to the first one in my view.
I thought Oldman was underused as well.
