Ray Allen will be nice but honestly I do not want to see him starting over Dion. He led the tank valiantly and deserves to be rewarded for it. He can spot up shoot and drive way better than Allen could ever bring it to the hole.

Allen won't start if he decides to come here.

no way does allen start over dion. the fact that dion can spot up and take it to the rim with the best of them makes him that much more dangerous. how do you defend dion? do you defend him as a shooter? or a slasher? and the defense has to stay on their man because he can also find the open guy.

if allen signs on the gravy train, no fret over him starting over dion. not happening.

I believe that there are a lot of people that feel that Dion would be a necessary spark off of the bench. You have Love Lebron and Irving to create shots as starters but nobody can when they sit.

Houston made a run at Allen a while back, but other than that, all I've heard is Cleveland or retirement. And that's with or without the Love trade.

dion can start and still be utilized as "the spark off the bench". just have to manage his minutes.

having dion on the court with kyrie, bron and love is what you want.

theres a difference between a 3 power punch combination and a 4 power punch combination. and that 1 punch can be the difference in the fight continuing or the fight being over.

This all still seems like a dream. Not only is getting Kevin Love adding an elite talent, it's also adding a perfect fit for this roster and collection of talent. Things are set up for the long term and for multiple championship runs. A huge bonus is the ability and assets to still add whatever is needed in the nxt few seasons.
Ray Allen would be a nice add to the roster but I honestly don't care a ton if he comes or not. He's just a bonus not a necessity.

I'd also like Dion to start. By if he doesn't, who takes his place? I still feel like we're a guard short. We have Kyrie, Delly, Harris, Dion, Miller & Lucas if he stays - am I missing anyone else? Who runs that back court effectively when Dion and Ky sit? Delly and Miller?

While I'd take Ray Allen in a heart beat, I don't think his production with exceed more than a spot up 3 off the bench. That still leaves the bulk of the scoring contribution to the starting 5. I wouldn't mind solidifying that second unit just a little more.

Or am I just being greedy now?

i really dont think anybody other than dion even makes sense.

millers too old to start. even if his minutes are limited, and if thats the case, then whats that point? same said about allen if he comes. delly is better suited as a back-up PG that QBs the court and able to hit the 3 off the swing. delly allen and miller would be a nice 1,2 3, off the bench tho.

I made this back when Kevin Love said he was "intrigued" to play with the Cavs. Figured this would be a good time to post it.
