2014 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yea I didn't get the outrage over Skrine's hit. To me it looked like he jumped up and at Locker thinking Locker was going to throw the ball. Instead, Locker hesitated then threw the ball. In the meantime, Skrine's momentum took him into the QB and he pulled his hands down over Locker's head. Under the current ultra sensitive QB rules it's a penalty but I don't think it was a hit that deserved any kind of additional penalty.

Why would Skrine get fined? He got correctly penalized for the play, but it wasn't a malicious hit or anything. Locker only got hurt because he cracked his hand on Skrine's helmet.

I didn't think it would be a fine when I saw the penalty. After coming here, I thought maybe I had missed something during the play because there were folks calling it dirty. I'm just relieved at the outcome.

I think you missed some obvious sarcasm by certain people here. :chuckle:

So what's the deal with John Hughes being a healthy scratch against the Titans? Is this an issue with his fit in the defensive scheme this year?

Unless they're just not disclosing an injury you would think they might want to get their best run defender on the field for a few snaps.

(This is a hail mary attempt to get people to discuss anything other than the couple of topics everyone's been sniping at each other over since the start of the season)

I blame you

A. Taylor sucks this year, so... Whatever.

B. I find it weird that almost no writer can come up with a reason as to why Hughes is out of the rotation. Part of me wonders if it's undisclosed internal disciplinary action?

FWIW, Pettine said that Hughes or Kitchen will be taking Taylor's snaps depending on the situation today in his presser.

I think both of those guys can give you at least the amount of production Taylor was giving. So, I like our chances of one of them performing at a higher level.

Not sure if this was posted, but PFF released their OL Rankings:

1. Cleveland Browns (12th)
PB: 1st, RB: 3rd, PEN: 4th

Stud: How about going for a rookie? Joel Bitonio has been everything advertised and a little bit more. It’s not just that he doesn’t look lost on the field, he’s added some punch to the team’s running game. A great start to life in the NFL.

Dud: All of the starters are grading in the green. There is no dud. Not yet.

Summary: It’s rare the stars align like this. You’ve got five players who have played every snap and look like a line in sync. They’re opening up holes for their backs and giving their quarterback time to make plays. A real testament that the guys you associate with making up the numbers are playing just as well as the guys on the big money.

It really is insane to think about the draft position of our starters (excluding the O-line):

QB - undrafted
WR1 - undrafted
WR2 - undrafted
WR3 - undrafted
FB - undrafted
RB1 - 2nd round
RB2 - undrafted

Yeah, well, we make up for it on the O Line for sure.

Someone tell me why Terrance West was inactive.
