I like Wiggins and Bennett, and I think they'll be a solid duo over the next few years, but if you've watched a Minnesota game and thought for a minute that either of those guys could positively contribute in a meaningful way this season, you're delusional. They are both 2-3 years away from being better than a typical replacement player. And yes, that is taking into account that Bennett has performed well in limited minutes. I would point out, that on a team bereft of talent, he can't get more than 11 minutes a game atm. There's a reason for that. He's shown big improvement from last year, and if he keeps it up he may eventually be a + player, but he's not there yet.
Meanwhile, Love can be a key piece on a championship team right now. I'm pretty sure in 10 years people will look back on this trade and think that both teams benefited greatly from it.
