Game 37: Cleveland Cavaliers (19-17) @ Golden State Warriors (28-5) Friday, January 5th 10:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm sorry, am I supposed to be happy by watching Justin Fucking Holiday killing us tonight?I mean seriously, how do we constantly let scrubs make names for themselves against us? Whoever is coordinating the defense is doing a shit job, I tell you hwat.

Did they though? This was from Zach Lowe's article on the trade:

Lowe generally approved of the trade, but that line had all kinds of warning sirens going off in my head.

I think the situation between New York and this Cavs team is a lot different. In New York, there really was no dominant leader like we have here in Lebron. Melo wasn't going to put him in his place, nor was Amare. Also, the Knicks haven't been a serious title contender, Shump already knows his role here, and its to play defense and take shots when they are given to him.

Last two things: Shump was really hyped up in New York, and while I think he was a solid player, no matter how hard he tried he was never going to live up to that hype. Lastly, he is in a contract year, if he plays well in the role he is assigned to, he was yield some very attractive offers.

The buck stops with the head coach.

I really hope so at this point. I don't see Blatt here past the All Star Break, but if we see the same defensive deficiencies past Blatt's reign, I don't know who we're going to be able to blame.

Not so well... They are both simply being optimistic about the recent changes and noticing what it is, so soon, even with the couple key pieces that are not playing. Only issue I had was with their praise of Love. They were saying he will get more touches when LeBron comes back, but really, he just (in my eyes) needs to be more of a team player as opposed to playing for himself. I'm paraphrasing, but they believe JR and Mozilla (Call him Firefox if it makes you feel better) are really buying in. Personally, I noticed JR already giving a mentor attitude and I did not expect that.

Edit:
By saying not so well, I only meant I could only sum it up, not really give a good recap. Didn't expect it or I'd have taken notes.

The coulda, shoulda, woulda's should all go to the Draft, etc. thread. Focus on the actual game and what happened.

Today, we lost to the best team in the NBA, at this point in the season. Give the Cavs another month or two and I think you'll see a transformed team that will be in a great place going into the playoffs.

What more can you expect from a team that last year was in 76er and Knicks land...how ugly was that (remember Andrew f'ing Bynum:).

I can't wait until playoff time and just getting there...which we haven't seen in a few in the Cavs Land.

You know, normally I'd agree, but let's say the Cavs fire Blatt. That would be the FOURTH different coach Kyrie and TT have had in four years. The same issues those two have had since they came in, still exist today. Kevin Love would be on his 5th coach. He's had the same issues under every single one. LeBron has willingly coasted defensively for the last two years (he spent most of last year's PLAYOFFS hardly exerting effort on that end of the floor, save for a few key moments). Is a new coach really going to change that?

The coach just can't keep taking all the blame. At some point, you have to look at the players and tell them to man up.

TT needs to stop hesitating (trying to guess the next play) and start moving with the flow. He may get some wrong, but his Damn hesitation is hurting him worse. Stop sticking that ass out like you're going to jump cuz it's showing your hand...

At what point in the season can we stop saying "give them another month" or "give them some time"? Like I mentioned before, we are 4 games away from the midway point. Not a whole lot of time left this year.
At the point I made several months ago -- in the Feb-Mar time frame. This is a team that had absolutely nothing at the end of last year to talk about...whether you like it or not, Rome wasn't built in a day...or even a year. If you can provide an NBA team that has done that please let me know.

I fully endorse his hesitating. It tells me he's cognizant of his poor basketball skills.

I didn't expect them to win a title this year. I've said as much in other threads. I did, however, expect to watch a team that looked like they cared and wanted to win. That hasn't been the case, even when healthy.
