2014-2015 National Champs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Its a tough call.

The best thing for the team though is to switch miller to an H-back or a reciever, regardless of who take snaps.

But I would understand if Miller did not want that per se.

What will be interesting is what Meyer does with all of this talent.

So your the defense. What if Meyer puts in both Cardale and Miller in the shot gun and uses a no huddle offense. Both Miller and Cardale are standing up and reading the defense. They make adjustments on the fly where either one can take the snap depending on what the defense is giving them.. The other guy is either a running back, or flanked.

During the title game, with Cardale alone, OSU scored on every drive they did not turn over on. Add to that a quarterback that can get to the edge with raw speed, or what is essentially a tight end or full back that can also drop and throw a ball on a zip line 50 yards down field..

A defense will have to figure that out using the same 11 guys for the duration of the drive...

The best thing for the team is not to have Miller taking H-back snaps away from players like Jalin Marshall and Dontre Wilson.

To say nothing of the fact people just assume he can block and catch like a champion without ever having played the position in his life.

It's literally one of the worst ideas I think I've ever heard. Honestly.

It ranks right up there with Tornicade's proclamation to get Manziel more snaps at TE and WR.

Short of taking jet sweeps, I'm not sure what Braxton could do from that position.

I think you guys might be underestimating Miller's adaptability and athleticism. He possesses much better vision then both Wilson and Marshall in the open field. He is a bonafide playmaker. He

Having run this offense, it shouldn't be hard to figure out blocking schemes. He is a thick guy who has trucked players countless times...the strength is there. If he has any hands, he could be a HUGE passing threat in the flats. He could get 6 yards a piece on screen passes. He is a scary player in space.

Urban was in Cleveland yesterday with his recruiting hat on. Jones staying shocked a lot of people. Urb had something to do with that. He will be given a legitimate shot to be the starter. He's earned it.

He has earned it, and so has Miller.

Being a thick player who has "trucked" players is irrelevant when you think about the fact that Meyer doesn't believe he should move.

Nor does Braxton want to move.

Ohio State should put the kid first, not waste his time and let him enter the Supplemental Draft if the alternative is 5 touches a game on jet sweeps and blocking.

It's a ridiculous scenario.

Again, is Braxton or Barrett even projected to be ready for the season? I wasn't thinking so but I hope they are. Barrett is my favorite of the three but Cardale is right there. Braxton is my least favorite skillset wise but I still love him and everything he's done, and he's by far the most dynamic runner. I like all three of these guys. I want all of them to be part of this team. :(

Do you guys think that urb can think of ways to get them all playing time? Braxton is so dynamic as a runner. It would be crazy for defenses to game plan. Imagine if all 3 were in the backfield at the same time. Or a combination of the 2 plus zeke. Crazy to think about.

Both are expected to be close to full-go by summer.

Both should miss the spring.

You wonder what happened. Does Urban want him to be the starter, or does he want him to stay as a backup as there is no telling how JT and Braxton will be come next season? Part of me thinks, that Urban told all three the same thing, the best player will start, and if you are open to it, he would find other ways to get them on the field.

I don't agree with the idea that any of the three QB's are "owed" the right to start or play, regardless of what they did in the past. The only thing any player is entitled to in terms of playing time is that the coach will play the guy at each position who he believes gives the team the best chance to win. How that affects the chances of a particular player to be drafted should be irrelevant.

Playing any one of those guys at positions other than QB takes away those reps from the players who already play those positions. That's fine if the QB in question is actually better at that position than the guy he's replacing, but you're not really gaining anything if you're benching a good WR just for the purpose of giving those other QB's playing time. Maybe a gadget play or two, but realistically, that's going to only be a few reps a game max.

Love Brax, love McMillan, but...is he referring to the beating up on a garbage conference and losing the only truly meaningful games? Not that it was solely on Braxton but come on. Some of the die hard "Braxton must start!!" crowd act like the guy won two national titles or something.

Now on the flip side, the defense/supporting cast was pretty lackluster for Braxton compared to what we had this year.

So iunno. Fuck it. I'll seriously be happy no matter what happens.

I think you almost have to roll with JT Barrett as next season's starter (health permitting).

I agree. I'd be happy with any of the guys, it's a great problem to have. Personally, I think JT is a nice mix between what Braxton and Cardale bring to the table.
