2014-2015 National Champs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Love Brax, love McMillan, but...is he referring to the beating up on a garbage conference and losing the only truly meaningful games? Not that it was solely on Braxton but come on. Some of the die hard "Braxton must start!!" crowd act like the guy won two national titles or something.

Now on the flip side, the defense/supporting cast was pretty lackluster for Braxton compared to what we had this year.

So iunno. Fuck it. I'll seriously be happy no matter what happens.

Braxton lost games?

Not sure his output was the problem in last years losses, but to each his own.

The defense holds Oregon to 20, so we get to use the winner label.

Never made much sense to me.

Pretty sure I addressed both sides in my post ... You can believe whichever take you want. :chuckle: Would we have won every game we did this year if Braxton started? Rhetorical question, because we may have, or we may not have. I truly don't know.

Braxton has his own skill set that Cardale and Barrett don't have. He's an insane runner with breakaway speed, a true home run threat every time he runs. Barrett combines the best of both worlds, IMO. He's the balance. Whereas Cardale is the cannon armed bulldozer with no breakaway speed but the ability to punish defensive linemen and push them backwards (!!!). Would Braxton have gotten those crucial 1st downs where Cardale did that? Again...who knows. I'm just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks (or not).

Like I said, they all complement each other so well. It's the weirdest QB situation I've ever seen. I'm gonna be happy either way.

We can flip that and ask if the Buckeyes would have been in third and long situations if Braxton were in there instead of Cardale.

But I don't think the Buckeyes were losing either of the last three games with any of those three starting. The offensive line and defense, goodness.

Too strong.

Probably not. Which is why I'm not caring too much about this QB situation. I have my personal favorite (JT) but no matter what this team will be heavily favored to go 13-0 heading into the playoff. I trust Urban to do what's best for the team.

I just want to see them pound Va Tech into submission and run the score up like crazy. I'm talking like 60 points. Not sure it's realistic with their defensive schemes but would love it.

His overall output wasn't the issue. It was his inability to complete passes, especially in passing situations. It is pretty important for a QB to be able to do that.

The myth that Braxton Miller can't complete passes is pretty well used throughout the fan base.

That argument usually involves some cherry picked stats from his worst performances, ignoring the reality that he completed 64% of his passes with an 8.2 YPA during his last season.

Doing with one consistent receiver in Philly Brown.

Perhaps it's just me, but that's not so bad.

I'm not using any stats. I don't know what his stats were, nor do I care. Completing 64% against Indiana and Buffalo and Purdue doesn't impress me.

Getting smothered by Michigan State and late against Clemson tells me a lot more. Kenny Guiton lit up scrub teams too.

66 percent against Clemson, actually. With four touchdowns.

But yea, scrubs...All of them.

Wisconsin's top 15 pass defense (68 percent)
Iowa's top 10 pass defense (81 percent)

And yada yada yada...

Michigan State did a great job, they were the best defense this team has played in a long time (including this year).

Keep staying objective, though.

The Film Room coverage of the game was really really interesting. Just got done watching it. Hearing the insights and analysis of the coaches was pretty awesome. Highly recommend it if you can find it online somewhere.

As a relatively recent grad of OSU, I still know many students who still attend the university. One, in particular, is quite close with Michael Thomas. Apparently, Miller has already quietly begun visiting with other football programs around the country. The general consensus among players is that he is leaving.

Take it for what its worth. I am not one to stir the pot. I just thought I would provide the insight I received since its been pretty quiet on that front up to this point.

Seemed like braxton threw a crapload of dink and dunk passes with the occasional long ball connection imho. That will get you the high completion %.

Just my observation

I say each quarterback gets a quarter, and the best one gets the fourth quarter...

Am I the only one that hopes that Braxton transfers just so there is another interesting storyline to next season?
