2014-2015 National Champs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

As this season proved, we don't need Braxton Miller.

He'd still be incredibly nice to have however. Hope he sticks around.

Does anyone know when CFP tickets are available to the public? Are they only available once the teams are announced?

I would love to buy them early to cut down on costs if that is possible. I figure if the Buckeye don't make it, i could sell them if they are decent seats, regardless of who is playing.

Any insight would help...

My work buddy got them WAY early in the season and was able to sell them for a profit later. I'll talk to him and post here when I get home.

Noah Spence did NOT apply for the NFL Draft as previously thought.

EDIT:

He's heading to Eastern Kentucky to play for Urban Meyer's friend Dean Hood.

Hopefully he can get his act together. Such potential. Would love to see him make it to the NFL.

1st round talent. Rooting for him to turn his life around.

So here's what I got...this is for the public. Getting tickets as a student/alumni or season ticket holder is a whole other thing. This is for the National Championship Game only. The Semifinal games are technically bowl games so they all have their own separate process.

He did the random drawing through the CFP website.

Random Drawing
1,000 (500 pairs) tickets will be made available to fans who enter the College Football Playoff random ticket drawing each year. Winners of the drawing will have the right to purchase two tickets. The random ticket drawing will open the February prior to each year’s championship game. The random ticket drawing for the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship is now closed.

He said the process started in February. He applied via mail (yes, actual mail) sending it to the address provided on the CFP website.
In mid October he received an email containing the two seats he got (Yes, he won one of the 500 pairs. Terrible odds, incredible luck). Location of the seats and price. He had a deadline of October 31 to purchase these tickets. They were nose bleeds for $450 a piece.
He bought the tickets not knowing whether he wanted them or not. After receiving the physical ticket in early-mid December, he decided he didn't want them because nose bleed seats are garbage in Jerry World. So he sold them for over $500 a piece. Profit.
He still wanted to go to the game so he bought seats from a 3rd party site.

Personally, I knew nothing about any of this. I just waited until I knew OSU made it then bought tickets from ticketmaster. Of course, this is not the cheapest route.

My advice, and what I'm probably going to do from here on out: Apply for the lottery. If you win, buy the tickets. The tickets seem to be cheapest through the lottery, so chances are you'll get to profit if you want to sell them later.

I better not get screwed out of my student tickets this coming season like I was last year.

So my girlfriend & I are getting alumni/donation tickets this year. We wouldn't get something to where we could enter a smaller lottery? Or I feel wouldn't we get near 1st bid for the CFP game, once they found out OSU made it?

I have no idea, truthfully.
