Dion Waiters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Imo he'll always be inconsistent a la JR Smith.

Dion isn't even anywhere near approaching JR Smith. I never understood the comparisons because JR is proven quick offense. Dion is trying to prove that he's quick offense but troubling shooting mechanics and decision making prevent that from happening. They both take questionable shots but that's where the comparisons end.

Apples and oranges.

Every JR Smith 3 erases an AYEEEE!!! from my memory.

Keep it up JR.

So in my account three good games and three bad games from Dion since he has been gone. He may have stepped his game up on defense but offensively its still the same Dion and who knows how long his defense will last if his shot continues not to fall. I don't think anybody on here has ever said Dion isn't capable of putting up big games but the problem was always consistency. Hes not going to get better and the oppurtunties he thinks he deserves unless he becomes more consistent in the role he was given.

More disturbing than the 1-9 to me is that he failed to get a single mark in the box score and he played over 26mins...that's really tough to do. Not a single rebound, assist or steal. Look at the box score and it jumps out at you.

As of this writing, Dion Waiters is 1-9 in 26 minutes of play in tonight's game. Obviously, being traded hasn't helped his consistency any.

I'm loving Griffin for making these moves. Give that man a raise.

I'm a Fantasy Points League.

Dion was a -0.5 tonight.

Durant was a 50, Westbrook a 48.

Yeesh.

JR had 3 games already w/cle where his shot wasnt falling. In those games he actually picked up other areas of his game like assists, rebounds and steals.

At this point, JR for Dion was a good trade, never mind JR was the throw in and we got Shump and half of Moz.

I was just comparing their inconsistent play not their talent or styles of game.

He chuckled.

“Listen,” he said, “they give me the ball. Like, I touch the ball. Like, I actually, like, you know, touch the ball.”

You watch Dion play and as Max says he contributes absolutely nothing off the ball, it's almost shocking how little he does.

Dion Waiters is not in the same stratosphere as JR Smith as a complete all around player.

It's true. Had we simply traded Waiters for JR, we win that trade.

Guys, we also got Shumpert and half of Mozgov via Dion freaking Waiters.

Listen, I do enjoy his personality and I rooted hard for him to succeed here. But like Max just pointed out, when he has a bad shooting game, he does NOTHING that contributes to winning basketball. He stands in one spot, he sulks - it has no place on a championship team. As so many have said, JR plays the role we wanted so badly for Waiters to play.

It's actually quite ridiculous what we got back for Dion Waiters. OKC, enjoy him. He will get hot sometimes, and he is a likeable dude from what we all can tell. But he doesn't contribute to consistent winning. You will soon see that.

Nights like tonight, I don't feel bad about trading Dion.

Dion Waiters is a poor man's JR Smith. I still can't believe Griffin turned him and the Memphis pick into JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Timofey Mozgov.

Since Cashius X, red, and qaws23 seem to hit disagree on every single anti-Waiters post, how about you guys actually respond and explain why you disagree rather than just posting things like "bow down to King Dion..."

Don't take it personally. The 10 days before Dion was traded I outlined in detail why he was a bad player. I got about 10 dislikes from cashius, 25 from red and 15_ from qaws. At least Cashius will attempt to talk about it though.
