For as "bad" as Love has been, he's still averaging over 17 & 10 per game.

Just for comparison sake, the only other Cavs to put up those numbers were Cliff Robinson (2x '82-'84) and Brad Daugherty (4x '90-'94).

This is why the hate he gets wants me to tear out my hair. He is playing hard taking charges fighting for boards and giving all he can. Just cause his shoots are not falling like they should does not mean he is awful. But man i love Brad, if only were had time machines.

If I could trade Love for Brad, I'd do that trade every day of the week.

It's just hard to swallow when expectations keep having to be adjusted for him. I never wanted him, but he was a "top 5 NBA player all-star and only 25 with above average defense." Now he is just 25 and you have to be careful giving his stats so people don't see his efficiency.

We gave up too much for him and we are going to have to pay to much to keep him.

From quick glance Kevin Love is 9th in rebounding, 15th in minutes played and only two points off from his career scoring average... All the while he is learning to play third fiddle... not too mention we have now brought in JR Smith a high volume shooter... Give it time fellas.

Love is right now playng with basically two of the top 10 scorers in the league....

He is only a few big games away from being in the top 25 as well for points... Now that Kyrie has asserted himself with Bron, Love is next. Once Love is rested and this teams gains more experience playing together he will be a force. He is still top 10 for scoring and rebounding for his position....

My advice to everybody is this...

I'm simply stating that people are all over Love for not living up to expectations, but they need to really look at what he's done. I'll admit, he hasn't come close to playing his best (Though I still don't think they're using him the right way at all & really haven't for the majority of the season).

However, isn't it saying something that: despite trying to go from star of a bad team to 2nd/3rd option on a title contender; battling nagging injuries & playing through them; not shooting well; being forgotten about offensively for quarters at a time; and not being used correctly, he's still putting up numbers (over 17 & 10) that only about 6-8 other guys in the league are putting up right now?

That alone should speak volumes to the impact he has and can have on this team once everything settles in for everyone. Let's remember, we may be 47 games in, but LeBron, Kyrie, and Love have only played 34 games together, only 7 of which have been since the trades..

I guess so? Problem is that anyone of us would have sacrificed these numbers of his for impact or efficiency. I'm loving what Timo is doing and don't have any idea what his numbers are. I don't care. It is obvious he is helping the team win, and it just seems like he is the one that deserves the Max. (I'm not literally espousing this, I'm just saying you can really feel the impact of his play.)

Love is exactly the opposite. Why are we even questioning him when he is getting 17 and 10? It's a game? I guess I am stupid? I know a lot of posters think I am stupid, but then so are the coaches voting for all stars. Watching him against Aldridge should show everyone that he isn't the best pf in game, and it isn't really close. The new consensus is top 10 which I agree with, so that is top 3rd of NBA starters at his position. Not great.

Someone made the argument that we should get Love because the statistically the wolves should have won more games than did last year, the problem is that we are seeing the same thing and it isn't a fluke. Kevin has no endurance and can easily be taken out of the game. He goes cold almost without fail and it is alarming. People think I am a love hater, but really I am super concerned about his ability to perform in the playoffs. More than anything else it seems like his ability to deliver in clutch is severely limited. I'm really not worried about his stats at all except for the ones that say he cannot deliver in 4th. People blame this on him not getting looks, but he doesn't convert the ones he gets.

There is very little value there. Like I said too expensive to get and too expensive to keep.

Every time come to this thread I hear that line or lyrics by Capital Cities song is Love Away. Anyways the line goes like"Love, just found a way" I keep thinking when that song plays about Love finding a way out of this slump.

Yeah, watching Love day in day out is really giving me an education in how stats can be deceptive. As an individual he may be scoring 17 (though at pretty low efficiency) with 10 boards, but I never get the feeling that he's a difference maker on a team level for either of those. I never feel secure in the fourth quarter that he is a reliable scoring option, or that just because he is on the floor we are going to vacuum up the defensive rebounds and the other team won't get putbacks. Unlike earlier in the season he seems to be trying harder on defense, which is nice, but it's hard to see that we are a championship team if he is just an average-somewhat above average player who doesn't dominate in any area of the game (except outlet passes, those are as advertised).

Sure, hes averaging 17/10, but he's shooting awful from the field. 42% for the year, 35% in the last 8 games. Thats terrible for a PF. He's basically a better rebounding Ryan Anderson this season.

Either way you resign him and if he doesn't work out you trade him.

Well, at this point it is imperative that he works out for us due to what we gave up for him. We will resign him to the max, we just need to hope he starts playing like a max player. Right now hes not even close to a max player.

He was basically campaigning for Korver to get the sub spot for Wade.

I think he really wants the break away from the game. He looked quite jovial at today's shoot around.
