It felt like we saw a lot of clean sets in the first half in particular. Perhaps that's because the Kings weren't putting up a lot of defensive resistance. It came across to me as if the Cavs were running some things we have seen a lot, and taking advantage of a few variations off of other sets (like the backdoor pass from Love to LeBron).

It got to the point where the Cavs were going for touchdowns on some plays that resulted in turnovers once the lead got comfortable, but it felt like they are getting pretty comfortable with each other's capabilities. Love and LeBron, for instance, are finding Mozgov. They all continue to be active in finding open three-point shooters. The team actually found Love around the elbow a few times and let him facilitate. Good signs out there.

Heck, considering the "sets" we saw (or didn't see) last season under MB, and the LeISO "sets" that dominated the first go-round, it is a real pleasure just to see this team consistently run recognizable offensive sets period. I don't recall ever seeing LBJ -- on the Cavs at least -- this willing to play within a particular system. Perhaps it is a function of him knowing Love/KI need to get touches as well, and the best way to get that is within a functioning offense.

Seems there is more or less across-the-board buy-in on running Blatt's offense, and it is great to watch. As hot as Kyrie was against the Blazers, the team was still running plays/sets that got him as many good looks as possible. The Blazers couldn't sell out to shut him down because the offensive structure wouldn't let them.

Anyway, it's really nice to see.

Excellent coaching by him. The only thing I was critical of him earlier in the season were his rotations but it was his rotations along with LeBron doing just LeBron things in the fourth quarter that won the game. The likes of Kyrie, Love, JR etc were showing effects of fatigue and his decision to go with Delly, Miller, TT etc worked well as the defensive effort improved massively.

I agree, he recognized that our guys had tired feet and put in our best effort guys, the ones who wave the towels the hardest ;) And they were exactly what we needed. Just good ole hustle. Because this Minny team is shit, and just leaving them open is what brought them to where they were by the 3rd. Once we put some hustle in there they started bricking.
And when we're good on D, we're good on O.

Good coaching. Now we finally get some rest.

I also think Minnesota is not as shitty as their record indicates. They have been playing most of this season without at least three of their starters - Rubio, Martin, and Pekovic. And Shabazz missed quite a few games (including tonight), and Mo Williams was also missing tonight. Once they get everyone back and in rhythm, they are going to give some trouble to teams that don't take them seriously. They will not be Western conference playoff caliber, but they won't be a pushover either.

I was talking about tonight's game only.
I have mentioned numerous times that they are seriously banged up and missing some important pieces.

Eh...I think they're still pretty awful. We played on cruise control the first three quarters and were ahead almost the entire time. When we actually tried in the fourth we pretty easily went ahead by double digits and they only scored 11 points. I think it was just a case of our guys being tired and mailing in the first 36 minutes.

Good job moving Marion on to Wiggins. Honestly probably should have given him more minutes on Wiggins earlier in the game but he made the move in the 3rd when every loose ball and lucky shot seemed to be going Minny's way. Wiggins likes to post up and while he appeared too comfortable going against Shumpert, Marion wiry length/quickness bothered him though.

From what I understand it is Urban Meyer believe it or not, convincing Lebron to give Blatt a chance(and Dan telling him he might as well, tank the season as well).

Where do you come up with this stuff?

From what I understand, what made LeBron buy-in and give Blatt a real chance was a test they made in one of the weekends off he had:
LeBron and his wife put two toys of their newborn child, Zhuri, in the room. One toy had the picture of Mark Jackson on it and the other had Blatt's. They asked her to choose, and she chose Blatt.
I'm glad she didn't choose Bryce's tank....

Coach Blatt's son, Tamir, scored his first points in the Israeli Premier League yesterday. He's a PG and not even 18 yet.
He played 9 minutes, scored a 3, had 1 rebound and 3 assists.

His son is a huge promiss in Israel, leading his high school team to a championship with a triple-double in the final.
