Ray Farmer Suspended 4 Games for Text-Gate

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What I don't get, is that owners and GMs can loiter around the sidelines, but you can't text from a press box? It just doesn't make any sense...

Just what we need, another change at the front of the office.

Stability is not achieved by keeping the same unstable individual up top. The GM's job is not to text the coaches. What coaches will want to work under this guy? A couple already bolted town. He is a fool.

Good god, are we fucked.

Still think it's ridiculous that the NFL cares about this. It's a freaking text message, from the GM of the team. Teams have coordinators up in the boxes calling down plays but you can't use a phone.

It's relieving to me that this was Farmer and not Haslam. Can you imagine the uproar if it was a non-football member calling for Manziel and making everyone watch his awfulness? And if Farmer does not make this text, who knows if Manziel ever gets reps? I am very happy that we got to see Manziel for the last 2 games. It wasn't pretty to watch, but it was critical for Manziel's future for him to realize how big of a joke he is. It was also critical to get game film on Manziel heading into another offseason with two 1st round picks.

Take a wild guess who Farmer sits next to the entire game?

This rule is only ridiculous if you think it's okay for non-coaching staff personnel to do the coaching staff's job. Are we really surprised now that two highly respected OC's (Turner and Shanahan) have bolted and thrown the organization under the bus on the way out?

With that said, this is utterly embarrassing. There's no other way to describe this. People can play the whole bitter ex card all they want but nearly everything being leaked has been true and incredibly embarrassing to the organization.

Been rooting against this team for several years now. Have to get creative to find a way to get any kind of entertainment out of them.

They are the single worst franchise in sports, have been for years, and it isn't even close.

If lose both of our draft picks or one of them in the first round this year because of this....

Browns are a fucking mess and I think they always will be.

Dear god. There is no way we will lose a first for this, and if we do it will be the greatest overreach in the history of sports.

Anyone wondering where the info came from in the Laconfora hit piece posted in the other thread should look no further now.

It's amazing to me that Shanny is so salty and acting like a little bitch eventhough we let him out of his deal.

It's even more amazing to me that you think Shanahan (or anyone else) should have any sort of loyalty to this organization.

I don't think that anyone should have loyalty to the organization. I just think there is a right way and wrong way to act as a professional. Being an anonymous source in hit pieces and bringing about a league investigation is poor form.

I'm with Pettine on this and am glad we got this asshole out of here.

Fire him.. He is clearly inept. The guys gets excited over combine numbers and doesn't trust his own million dollar study on which QB to draft, leading to 2 huge first round busts.
That QB that the million dollar study recommended isn't good either

On the sideline you have the same vantage point as the coach, there is nothing you could see that they couldn't. If you're texting people who are on the sideline from an undisclosed location during the game, then there is the potential for something to gain an advantage.
