We lost to Pjilly recently. Lol Payback is abitch

Coach Blatt's son, Tamir, scored his first points in the Israeli Premier League yesterday. He's a PG and not even 18 yet.
He played 9 minutes, scored a 3, had 1 rebound and 3 assists.

His son is a huge promiss in Israel, leading his high school team to a championship with a triple-double in the final.

We have found our backup PG!

Not a fan of that Shump/JR/Moz/Marion/Delly lineup. And while I know Delly made some big shots down the stretch, I would've preferred to see Shump or JR in his stead to close it out. Dig Delly's hustle, but I feel like Blatt's got better options late in the game. Only issue I've had with the coaching in a while.

14. Blatt took the blame for part of the third-quarter struggles. The Cavs were outscored in the quarter 30-22 and their turnovers matched their baskets: 9. Blatt pulled Kyrie Irving from the game with 3:38 left in the quarter and the Cavs ahead by 13. But it left all three of the Cavs’ stars on the bench at the same time, something that hasn’t happened in weeks, and the Sixers had the deficit to 69-65 entering the fourth.

15. “I just didn’t think I managed the quarter well, lineups that were a little unusual,” Blatt said. “We had a few plays we could’ve made before the lineup change and even after lineup changes. I just didn’t feel we had good mixes on the court. And I take responsibility for that.”

16. Blatt seemed to concede the Cavs have to do a better job of getting Love more involved on the offense. When told he didn’t get a shot after the first quarter, Blatt said “that shouldn’t happen. Absolutely shouldn’t happen.”

Good presser.
It's great to see him avoid being all diplomatic and taking the blame when needed. It shows that he does learn from game to game and knows what needs to be improved.

After practice video

- "I'm not at all concerned" about Kevin Love. He's been a big part of our win streak.

- Kevin is playing good defense.

- The team is winning, and Kevin is contributing.

- We did not address stuff for Kevin (on offense) in practice. No need. It's just in game stuff.

- Kevin "is a proven high level scorer" in the league.

- Kevin has been willing to do anything we ask to help us win.

- Defense is improving. And we've been working at it. Guys are buying in on defense.

I'm very skeptical that we'll see Blatt run "the weave". I don't really know crap, but I imagine that many NBA players would raise an eye brow or two if their coach came in with a straight face and asked them to use it in a game.

Sure, the weave looks cool when the Globetrotters do it. It could be useful if you got a 30 second shot clock and the defending guards can't switch or lack detailed scouting reports. But in the NBA? Most guards can switch for a second or two, they know how to jam handoffs, the shot clock is only 24 seconds and the defense has detailed scouting reports. Maybe the weave can get you a good matchup eventually, but would there be enough time left on the shot clock to take advantage of it? There are quicker ways to get a matchup that you want. I think the play opens too slowly, is too easily solved with a bit of scouting, and has challenges when you got an NBA shot clock and NBA defenders.

When I heard that the Cavs might run the weave, I pictured the reaction in the locker room could be a similar kind of WTF that you'd get in the NFL if a coach came in and started to diagram the wishbone for his team. There are reasons why that play is extinct at the highest levels.

We have been running the weave all year. A lot of the time it ends up with a wide open P&R at the top with Kyrie and TT/AV/Moz. We've seen a ton of pocket passes and a fair amount of alley-oops out of it.

I'm pretty sure the cavs have already run or attempted to run the weave this year and gotten some pretty good results from it, but don't quote me on it though, not a very big x's and o's guy and I have a very hard time recognizing plays in game.
