Kendrick Perkins - Canton's Enforcer

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Cavs needed some extra muscle on the frontline no matter mintues, production.

I think Kendrick will get more opportunities based on our assault from the outside which will mesh well with his game at this point in his career.

If he plays his role, this was a good addition.

Not only that but my 72 year old grandpa who has dementia has always remembered him for his scowls. :chuckle:

Good add.

There's a reason OKC didn't even see a use for him enough to keep him as insurance.
Actually Enes Kanter was the reason. And I would take Kanter over Perk in a minute too.

But they did have enough use for him to use him for 19 minutes a game, correct?

(Perkins averaged 19 minutes a game for the Thunder this season, scoring 4 points and grabbing 5.5 rebounds a night.)

Hey, he's a backup. No more. But that's all we need.

There's a reason OKC didn't even see a use for him enough to keep him as insurance. I'm fine with him being insurance only. If he gets 15 minutes a game, it's a mistake. Against a couple teams? Fine. Other than that, he should be next to Mike Miller barking like a rabid dog. That's mostly what hes useful for now.

The entire league is not space and pace...and even the teams that are space and pace often times have a physical post presence that Perkins is effective against (Bogut on Golden State). We will most likely face the Bulls in the playoffs and they are a team built through the post. Perkins will be very useful against them. The Chicago big men killed us when Mosgov was on the bench. Any team that is fully space and pace won't be a threat to beat us in the playoffs and even then we wouldn't need to play Perkins against them as we can go small vs them...so it's a moot point anyways.

In the finals we may face the Spurs or Grizzlies. Perkins hurt Memphis badly last season. He made both of their big men shoot really poorly. Memphis would kill our interior defense if Mozgov is on the bench just like Chicago did. Perkins is also effective against Duncan. Last playoffs Bogut was out against the Clippers and Jordan killed them. Perkins did a good job against Jordan in the playoffs last year.

Going through the playoffs with just one rim protector is very risky. Mozgov could get injured or in foul trouble. Now we have 2 rim protectors. You are badly underrating the importance of a good post defender.

I expect nothing less than this from him :chuckle:
