Kendrick Perkins - Canton's Enforcer

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Now for important topics. Jersey number. :chuckle:

43 that he wore on the Celtics is retired here.

5 that he wore with the Thunder is JR's number.

Never would I thought during those Boston-Cleveland playoff series a long time ago that we would land either Perkins or Allen.

Next safari: backup point guard

Mozilla doesn't have to do all the dirty work now.

Auto corrected into a nickname. ..gotta love that.

I think some people are underestimating the value of having flexibility here. Look, there will be plenty of games where Perkins doesn't likely see the floor. Yeah, the league is more pace and space, but in the East 3 of the top 4 other teams besides us are not pace and space. Neither the Wiz, Bulls, nor Raptors are pace and space. Did you watch any of their playoff games last year? Walking up and down the floor, getting it into big men, etc. Basketball is about matchups. We now have guys that we can have in a small line up, big line up, etc. We're not going to have Perkins out on the 3 point line like we did Ben Wallace against Rashard Lewis (gasp!). But when the Bulls and Wiz who each have 3-5 competent big men just start rotating them in at will we can throw Perkins at them and rough them up a bit. I think part of the reason Mozgov played a bit soft at the beginning last night was that he was fearful of getting into early foul trouble like he did against the Bulls. Notice at home he doesn't seem to play as soft. But now Moz can stay aggressive since he knows he has TT AND Perk as insurance.

Fuck.. seems like Perkins is ours, and since he's on our team, I'll welcome him with open arms.

As we all know, Perkins isn't that great of a player... JR and Shump look great here because they fill a need and fit... Perkins fills a need and fits this team, so he will be good for us. Very excited to move forward and push for a championship with this roster. He will be good for us because all we need/want from him is what he's good at... Defense/rim protection/toughness. That is how you build great teams, you hide people's deficiencies. We can hide Perkins bad offensive game with all our talented scorers, we can hide Love's defense with Mozgov and Perkins now, etc.

This is the first time we have a big who is willing to give hard fouls. Kind of excited to have one of those on our team. I can see him decking Kyle Lowry in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Precisely. Mozgov's blocking ability and smart fouling already has changed the dynamics in the paint. Perkins' willingness to play rough will help it further.

And meanwhile opposing defenses still have to either try to stop the Cavs from firing away on the perimeter or hope they can prevent LeBron and Kyrie from cutting to the basket.

This team is looking good on both ends. The plus is that a great offense if proving to be a great defense. The Wizards were out of sorts last night. It's not just them having a bad night. They have to constantly worry about their transition D because they Cavs can run for easy points. When K-Love is hitting his stride, it's even more troublesome because he can hit a deep pass to LeBron or Smith or whoever and torch you. That makes execution on offense for opponents difficult.

Mozgov better understand that there is only one silverback :box2:

Perkins has been absolutely awful in the last couple of years.

I'd rather have a big that can score, because we still need it in the bench IMO. TT, Shumpert, Delly, Marion, all are more defensive than offensive.

But there aren't many options there. Blatche or Stoudemire would be the best.

Anyway, we needed a 4th big. Let's hope he can provide some defense.
