Dion Waiters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How can the first guard off the bench look like a guy who is finding his way out of the rotation?

By minutes decrease...His first 13 games with the Thunder he averaged 27mins a game. His last 4 hes averaged 19mins a game. Quite a few of those minutes in the last 4 games took place after benches were emptied.

He's not being phased out of the rotation. That's ridiculous. Part of the reason his minutes have been so low recently has been because of foul trouble and because Brooks has been giving him short hooks because he's tired of his bullshit.

Him still being the first guard off the bench is proof enough that he still has a role on that team.

You answered your own question.

That's not him being phased out of the rotation....that's him being coached.

He has the opportunity to play meaningful minutes every night. If he plays well, within the team concept he gets more time. If he plays poorly or doesn't play within the team concept, he gets pulled.

The fact that he's still one of the first players off the bench each game is proof enough that he's not being phased out of the rotation. This shouldn't be a hard concept to grasp...

Still shocking chubby was a lottery pick

Okc great at drafting but suck at trades

Agree to disagree.

Only if we could somehow create a cloned GM, using the genes from both Sam Presto and Chris Grant to create the ultimate GM. Either that, or he'd be the worst GM ever if he happened to get Presti's bad trade genes and Grant's bad drafting genes.

Dion has been top 7 in minutes 6 out of the last 7 games. OKC won 2 games with Dion starting in that stretch,
the last 3 games have been blowouts and Brooks has been going deep where only durant and Westbrook have gotten more than 30.

I am looking forward to how Dion shows after the All star Break he is already starting to trend upward as OKC is in position for a playoff run.

Dion is having a bad shooting season but there have been improvements in other aspects of his game. he has a good shot (pun intended) to Salvage this season.

Curious how Waiters will respond in the absence of Jackson. He didn't look that great last night.

Grantland is having a field day with Dion and the OKC trades. I've always had a soft spot for Dion but not hating when I say they're comments are hilarious:

Crap, I forgot about Enes Kanter! Welcome to Waiters Island, Enes! Can I freeze you out from a cold beverage?

Simmons: My “Pistons over 36 wins” bet loves this trade! I can’t decide if Reggie is overrated or underrated. He was fucking awesome in that season-saving Grizzlies game last spring when KD and Russ were melting down. Do you think he’s on his life raft staring back at Waiters Island and pumping his fist or crying tears of joy?

[Editor’s note: Reggie agrees.]

ther winners: Goran Dragic’s agent; anyone named Sam; all black-sheep NBA brothers; Bianco’s Pizza for getting more John Calipari visits; Boston’s 8-seed chances; Philly for potentially making history with six top-11 picks in three years; Reggie Jackson for escaping Waiters Island; John Henson’s rebounding totals (more chances now with MCW shooting); K.J. McDaniels’s mom; Le Batard and Stugotz; LaMarcus

Dion having himself another absolutely terrible game.

4 points, 1-7 shooting, 1 assist

Seriously how in the fuck did we get Shump, JR, and half of Moz (who are all better, including Mozgov's half) for this guy? Amazing job, Griff.

Keep in mind the squad that wanted him didn't want to give max money to Harden, not necessarily the sharpest pencil in the box

If only Russ would give him the damn ball!
