Dion Waiters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
7/24 FG's made in the last three games with an average of 19.6 minutes played.

His minutes are slowly dwindling and so are his shooting percentages.

Is that a furby?

The point I'm making is that you made it seem like the whole Okc fan base hated him when in reality those comments were made from two people out of thousands of members from that site. You said that they're calling him an inefficient chucker who can't shoot? That comment was made from one person! Your agenda was to come in here and make it out as if the whole fan base felt that way.

A lot of Thunder fans are saying he's a chucker now. Not just two people.

Really wanted to see this kid succeed somewhere.

Pretty clear he's a guy that needs to find his way to a lotto team where he can get his numbers and not worry about winning.

And that's a pretty good illustration of the problem with Waiters.

He's gone from bad to worse since the trade. Crazy.

I feel bad for the guy because even with the bullshit, he's a single Dad that from what I read, goes about life the right way. Sure, he's in his early 20's, but he takes good care of his son and has what looks like a pretty good balance on work/fun.

He just needs to get his head on straight. We all see people who have talent to succeed in their job, but see themselves as something they aren't. Dion thinks he's a superstar; he isn't.

I'm really rooting for him to carve out a niche in this league and at least make enough money to support his son and stay out of where he came from. He really seems like a good dude.

I agree with this. He seems like a fine person outside of basketball considerations.

What I don't like is his "me-centric" approach to the game, and apparent need for other people to praise him, etc.. He's the un-Delly, un- TT. So, I can't stand to watch him play.

Well, if he's got any brains/self-control, he'll have made enough money on his first contract alone to provide for himself and his son. And he's certainly good enough to make a decent living playing professional basketball somewhere.

ETA: Honestly, I think he's a nice kid who really just wants to feel wanted/loved. But he's just so damn immature about it.

If the twenty million he'll have made by the end of his rookie contract isn't enough to support both him and his son for the rest of his life, I don't have a whole lot of pity on him. And that's assuming he doesn't get another contract, which he surely will, even if it's not a huge payday.

Dion has 13 minutes in 3 quarters vs Mem which is pretty much a big game for OKC.

Officially out of the rotation. Hes getting some blowout minutes now but I don't see how OKC is a better fit or even a good fit for that matter. Dude belongs on a ass team getting 38 minutes a night trying to find himself....

I know how eager you and others are to write him off but he had 3 fouls in the first half. I wasn't even watching the game as I was out...all I did was check the box score and realize that. No reason to play him and risk him getting his 4th before halftime.

Also, he was the first guard off the bench in the 2nd half....doesn't sound like a guy who is out of the rotation....

Hes been under 20 minutes lately. That's why I jumped to conclusion without even looking at fouls.

If you've watched any of the last few games, not just looked at box scores, he looks like someone finding his way out of the rotation.

How can the first guard off the bench look like a guy who is finding his way out of the rotation?

Trading Dion for the return we got will go down as an epic all-time deal if we win championships with our new roster. Dion gave us a gigantic addition by subtraction on top of the players we got in return. He is a losing player and has not given OKC anything that they couldn't have gotten from other people on their roster. Given, the cost was low and he still has upside, which was Presti's whole point, but tangibly right now he is no better than he was here, and we are way better with him not involved in the equation.

Well, at least he isn't losing any sleep.
