Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know it's difficult to call because of injuries and such, but where do you guys think Wiggins tops out as a player?

Wiggins ability to use his length and quick spin moves to create offense for himself in the post is very interesting. He looks like he can be a great jump shooter. He'll be on sports center all the time for his alley-oops. His defense will keep getting better. He'll probably be a very good player. Top 20 in the NBA some day? Seems like a possibility.

Still hard for me to see him become a top 5 player in the NBA unless he learns how to beat a defender face up off the dribble one on one. Right now it still looks like he's driving a fork lift when he tries to change direction when dribbling.

What an impressive talent, with the brains to make it work. Getting Wiggins for a guy who was going to walk will go down as one of the best moves of the decade. Now, the rest of Flip's moves :chuckle:...

Kid drops 30 on his 20th birthday, giving him his third 30-point scoring game of the season. That's three more 30-point games than all the other rookies combined this year... just hand him the ROY now.

Digging even further, Wiggins has more 20-point games (18) than the rest of the entire rookie class combined (14) [Bogdanovic - 2, Payton - 1, Parker - 2, McDaniels - 1, Mirotic - 2, LaVine - 2, Smart - 1, Clarkson - 1, Galloway - 1, Wear - 1]. Not bad for a guy years away from having an effective offensive game.

Quoting yourself might be the most blowhard move of all-time, I apologize. But I think it's pretty insane the stat I looked up Monday night got posted on r/NBA on Tuesday, then made Bill Simmons's trade value column today.

22. Andrew Wiggins
Whenever I finally write The Book of Basketball 2.0: A Shameless Excuse to Regurgitate Material That You’ve Already Read for More Money, you know that I’m blowing out the “What If?” chapter and adding “What if new Cleveland GM LeBron James had just been patient and waited a few months to make sure Wiggins wasn’t his short-term Scottie Pippen and long-term Perimeter Stud In Waiting before flipping such a monster asset for Kevin Love when that deal would have still been sitting there in January?” Only the ranking remains in question. I love Wiggins. He’s a sure thing.

R/NBA recently posted the best Wiggins stat: He has more 30-point games (3-to-0) and more 20-point games (18-to-14) than the rest of 2014’s rookie class combined.

I thought this kid would be a multiple time all-star but nowhere near superstar level. If he can learn how to consistently beat people off the dribble or develop a deadly jump shot, both of which based off his current development seem possible, he could be a top-3 player in the NBA. I'm still positive the Love trade, assuming Saunders really mandated Wiggins, was the right move. Nonetheless, I look forward to watching this kid grow in Minnesota.

Kid is going to be scary good in 2-3 years.

KG is mentoring Wiggy now. He's going to be a monster!

If KG wasn't going to be on a contending roster, this is exactly where he would want to be, doing exactly what he would want to be doing. Good for him. It's good to see him waive his no-trade clause for a horrible team just because it's "home" and a place where he can pass on his knowledge.

I love Wiggy and I hope the kid nothing but the best.

I think this trade, eventually, will be seen as a win-win for both sides. It's hard to judge a trade off one year, but we're not exactly "hurting" really either.

Kevin Love to me, is still clearly the better player. And you must remember, if we kept Wiggins, we'd have a front line of Tristan and Mozzy.

Even if Love isn't himself right now, I don't think that front line would be good enough to win a title.

Even if Kevin Love just ends up being a stretch 4, which is basically all he really is right now, that's still very pivotal for Kyrie and 'Bron.

And Wiggins would not be as productive if he was on this team.

Given that we've looked like the best team in the NBA for the past month and a half and just bulldozed the Warriors, I'm decidedly okay with the trade right now. So long as Love re-signs with us this summer or opts in and re-signs next summer, I doubt we'll have much reason to regret this while we're contending for titles the next half decade.

Personally, if we just win one fucking title, this trade was worth it one hundred times out of one hundred. I don't give a fuck if Wiggins goes on to be the best player of all time (no chance of this happening, but just saying). One title and it was all worth it.

If he goes on to the best player of all time, titles would be coming and not just one. We fucked up and need to accept the fuck up including Lebron who had his hand in it.
