Browns Free Agency 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Really, if someone genuinely thinks Haslam's willingness to spend is an issue and is completely unaware of the rumors of his interfering in football operations it's pretty clear they've spent more time typing posts in here than actually following the Browns in any capacity whatsoever.

Fairley to St. Louis, per Schefter

Fairley is more of a 4-3 defensive tackle, great at getting penetration. No big loss to the Browns there.

FYI- The Haslam family donated a million dollars earlier this week to Breakthrough Schools; a charter school group in Cleveland. Just putting that out there for the Haslam is cheap narrative.

Donations = tax writeoff

But i dont agree with him being cheap

St Louis REALLY should be good. But thanks to Jeff Fisher, they always seem to be mediocre.

Saints return is good value. Dolphins are looking for that quick turnaround.

What?

Ellerbe was going to be cut if he wasn't traded. He counts as 9 million under the cap this year and he played 1 game last year because he was injured.

For a team forced to trade their 2nd best offensive weapon (Jimmy Graham) because of cap problems it doesn't make any sense to trade a highly productive 22 year old WR (arguably their 3rd best offensive weapon) who has a 633,000 cap hit for Ellerbe and a 3rd rounder. It's actually awful value.

Saints felt the need to pay for the 3rd rounder which is good value nowadays man. Lets not forget Stills was a 5th rounder so what do they really lose?

Supposedly they've told traded players that they're committing to building a D. There's also reports that Brees wasn't happy with Stills..

That being said & if those are both true, that's not a terrible get for Stills (mainly cause of the 3rd)..

Again, what?

What does it matter what round Stills was drafted in? He's a good player! They traded a good player for a 3rd round pick and took on 14x the salary. On what planet is that good value?

I concur with Phills that round drafted in hardly matters. It's how you perform that ultimately does. Of course, except for tags and whatnot.

Kenny Stills outperformed his draft slot, therefore, he's no longer a "5th rounder" by value.

It wouldn't be good value to get a 3rd round pick for Tom Brady circa 2005 simply because he was once a "6th rounder".
