Game 74 | Cavs (47-26) @ Nets (30-40) | March 27, 2015 | 7:30pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not a hater but until he can properly decide when to go small in the 4th and when not to, then I'll always be critical. We are not the Heat. We can play any game. Match their 7 footer with your own. It's simple

He makes mistakes. That's obvious.
But he's also leading the best team in the league right now, and beat some of the leagues best teams.
So every loss coming out saying "ehhh I'm not sure about this guy" is just silly. You're not sure about the coach of the best team in the league because he lost a game?
I don't see 90% of those guys when we beat a team like Memphis in a beautifully coached game say one word. It seems like there's a whole community of posters just waiting for him to fail so they can call him out.

Except with Mozgov, you have the hope of matching up with Lopez even if Moz hasn't been playing well.. you don't have that with TT or KL at center.

And then when Mozgov comes in they revert back to pick and rolls and motion offense and go away from Lopez, which they were doing with a lot of success when Timo was out there.

Look, I'm not promoting Blatt keeping him out in the 4th, or promoting Tristan over him against Lopez in the 4th, I'm just saying I saw him play a very poor game compared to what I have seen from him. That's all.

As good as Blatt was against MEM......this one was questionable to be honest.

Going small for the entire 4th quarter in a tight game, not smart especially against a team with Lopez. I'd say whatever except it's happened many times now, and why don't we ever close with our starting lineup that has the best +/- in the entire NBA by a wide margin?

We lose as a team but I think some of the rotations tonight didn't help the cause.

Agree, why is this even an argument? Mozgov might not have been perfect but you can't teach size.

Silly argument. Why don't we just put a lamp post out there, then?
Size is not everything. If your 7 footer keeps losing his man, helping when he doesn't need to, punked by simple spin moves and doesn't contribute on offense, his size means jack shit.

I'm not saying that about Mozgov tonight, but just in general the idea of putting size vs size like that's all that matters.

Look man, +/- doesn't mean he was doing everything well. I saw what I saw, and what I saw when Mozgov was in was more pick-and rolls and action that caused the Cavs to rotate, leading to Timo being out of position. When Tristan was in, they attacked him down low. Either way, with either of them in, our defense was terrible. Timo and Tristan both contributed to that.
I'm not saying he was perfect, but not being played at all in the 4th is not a smart decision IMO.

I think people have to realize tonight there was nothing we could do to stop them on defense...Poor effort from everyone. We played big, they moved the ball and got shots at the rim or got us out of position and over rotating leading to wide open jumpers. We played small, they went inside-out, forced us to double team leading to open shots or just went to the rim with the same success. I don't blame Blatt for going small and playing an all offense line-up when it looked like our only chance to win would be for the offense to catch fire.

People overreact to every little thing in here after loses. I'm just trying to calm people down.

It just felt the whole game like it was there but the Cavs couldn't find a gear or spark defensively and the ball movement wasn't very good offensively (after being off the charts the other night). The Nets were getting into the lane easily and that one reserve was hitting everything. Result: L.

Not that it lost the game, but I am so tired of Crawford's poor officiating. Hate when I see that guy doing a Cavs game.

I'm not overreacting, just voicing my opinion dude. Guess I'll agree to disagree with you.

Have some presentations and stuffs today. The match was at early five in the morning here and considering the work I have for the entire day, I decided to skip it as I needed to sleep to be able to work and also because it was Nets. So, wtf happened today?

Cheers.

Yea you're right, point taken.

How quickly some forget about a 30 point win against the Wests #2 team in their arena...It will be ok guys..But wait until tmrw..I wonder what drama the media will stir up

The Nets played with Lopez and 4 perimeter players for much of the second half. When we had Love and Moz/TT on the floor against that lineup, the Nets abused Love's inability to guard perimeter guys. They got a ton of wide open jumpers and were hitting them. No-go.

When the Cavs countered by going smaller as well, the Nets reacted by going to Lopez more often in the post. How do we want to counter this? Put Mozgov in. (let's forget the fact that Moz is a lousy post defender) That means Love is on the bench for another 4th quarter, and Blatt is still getting killed.

It also didn't help that the Cavs defense slept through the first half. Kyrie in particular was abysmal. He had complete tunnel vision on offense as well, even if he shot the ball reasonably well. Contested pull-up jumpers after zero passes are not acceptable.

The team just played pretty lazily tonight against a team that is desperate for wins and shot pretty well. Also, Earl Clark. Like, WTF?

Stupid game to lose. One less game of rest at the end of the season. There are a lot of teams we should beat just by having LeBron or Kyrie go beast-mode, and the Nets are one of them.
