As long as Cavs players and fans know the truth, who cares about the lies spread by the media?

Yes, Lebron calls a play here and there, but how does it make him the unofficial head coach of the Cavs, as the media tries to portray him? According to this logic, the number of unofficial head coaches in the NBA equals the number of seasons where we had a losing record, and that's quite a lot :)

We gotta bear in mind too that the only people who want the Cavs to do well are the Cavs themselves and their fanbase. The rest of the world would love nothing more than to see the Cavs fail. Think about how many powerful people in the world of sports are really pissed off that the Cavs formed a big 3. And how many of them would have the motivation and power to help feed these media narratives? How many teams would benefit from the Cavs imploding and sending LeBron and K Love back into the free agent pool, potentially to be snatched up by their team. I think the league probably realizes that with the Spurs aging and no real other dominant team in the league, the Cavs have the POTENTIAL to become a multiyear contender, but the problem is that it is all very unstable given the fact that the Cavs are a new group and just feeling their way. Now would be the time to break them up before they might get cohesive and form a strong unity.

I think part of what's feeding this is that the sports world doesn't know the truth but the story is a very interesting one and we sure damn well WANT to know the truth. We want to know the intricacies of what's going on behind the scenes. We want to know what Blatt is and isn't responsible for so we can judge his level of contribution to the team's success. We want to know what his relationship is with other key members of the team and coaching staff, etc.

In the absence of real information from the horses mouth we are basically forced to scour media sources and try and determine what is credible and what is not. Things are especially wound-up atm because were in a lull period before the playoffs start, and there's lots of off days so it's less about the games lately and more about speculation of whats going on behind the scenes.

Congrats to our Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for March.
Beat me to it. (Listening to the Tribe)

NEW YORK — The Cleveland Cavaliers' David Blatt and the Golden State Warriors' Steve Kerr today were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month, respectively, for games played in March.

Blatt led the Cavaliers to the best record in the East during March at 11-4 (.733). The Cavaliers averaged 107.0 points and surrendered just 97.9 points in March, en route to posting the best differential in the conference at +9.1 ppg. Cleveland went 5-0 at Quicken Loans Arena, where it has now won 16 consecutive games.

Fuck the media, let's focus on ourselvs.
we have a great team, the coach look good so far, and will need to prove himself really come playoff time, but we shouldn't listen to the media, they try hard to get juicy news about our team all of the time because we are so interesting, and they need to sell.

The larger point that hopefully everyone on this board at least grasps that it is not uncommon at all for veteran superstar point guards or lead ball handlers in James case, to call plays often in a game.

-Doc Rivers let Rondo and CP3 do it.
-Carlisle let Kidd and Rondo do it.
-Steph Curry is probably getting to the point where he does it

It's a non issue for the coaches and a non-issue for the players.

The issue is this. Cleveland is Cleveland, We do not have the historical franchise or population base to simply sell the story of a great team at face value.

With Cleveland, for the national media to feed the 24/7 sports editorial cycle, there always has to be a "controversy or downside", whether it be how the offseason was reported prior to Kyrie extending and LeBron returning, the LBJ/Wade convo on court, Love fitting in, Blatt vs. LeBron, etc etc etc.

Until we win 1-2 titles starting immediate, the national story with us will always be presented as is we're just one crack away from completely falling apart.

I love turning on espn and seeing this as a big developing story. Since when is it news super stars call out plays depending on the flow of the game instead of the coach? Jackson certainly let Jordan dictate the play on the floor and nothing was news worthy there. If this was an Iverson or Marbury doing it, I get it. It would also be a knock on the coach, but this is James. A proven champion should be in the thick of game calling and the coach shouldn't be second guessed over that.

I always said Kev's back is hurting him. It is pretty visible by his movement on the floor. After rest days he looks different, but on back to backs he moves like a fucking robot out there and can't even leave the floor on a jump shot.

So much for Kevin's back not being a concern....

I think Kevin was full of shit, and Blatt was right all along.

It is getting tiring. He says his back feels great too many times for my liking only to see him hobbling up and down the court in the fourth quarter.. barely able to stand.

Windhorst's sources for the Blatt/James fight for power.....
