JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The guy said crowder deserved it cause he fouls him. So I'm gonna youse that idiotic statement. If Lloyd wasn't gonna snitch he wouldn't be shot. Ya you see how stupid that is.

First off, I didn't say he got injured because he deserved it. I said he got injured because of the way he was standing. Second, youse isn't a word. Regardless of JR's intent, he didn't position Crowder's legs the way they were and didn't plan it so his fall would cause a sprain. That's just dumb man, you should learn how to read an entire sentence instead post instead of skimming through certain words and coming up with your own ideas of the content of a post. It's like you work for Fox news or something.

It was a stupid move by JR. He is one of our most important players.

The refs let this get out of hand. You would think the NBA would do more to protect James\Cavs. They are one of the biggest stories in all of sports and the refs let Boston play rough and called it in their favor.

Sports is entertainment and Perkins\Smith making a stand was one of the most entertaining things I have watched in sometime.

Losing JR is a huge blow but I think there could be a silver lining for the Cavs. The refs are going to call it tighter from here on. The Bulls only chance was to play dirty like the Celtics. I doubt the NBA lets that happen now.

That doesn't deserve a suspension but because its JR Smith, he will be suspended. His reputation precedes him, unfairly at times.

Anyone have any idea when the punishment will be handed out? Would think they would do it early so we could figure out what we are dealing with during practice over the week.

They can win a game without Smith against the Bulls, but if this is more than a 1 game suspension, in 10 years time this league won't be considered basketball.

probably Monday before the games

Remember when everyone talked about this team having to deal with adversity at some point?

Here we are gentlemen. We are swimming in the shit, bunker mentality has to be in full effect.
Not getting Ray Allen is looming larger now..maybe Ray would have been a bit more of an effective sub for JR and K Love than Jones/Miller/Marion would be.

Don't put these thoughts in my head

It doesn't matter what happened before, it matters what JR did. This will be a multiple game suspension. I'm thinking 2 games, but it could be more. Don't think it will be though.

Where's the precedent for a multi-game suspension? At worst, I could see the NBA saying it should be a 3 game suspension but being dropped to 1 because of the officials not taking the steps to keep the game in line. But realistically, everything else this season has warranted a 1 game suspension. The playoffs doesn't suddenly make it worse. Crowder having a glass jaw doesn't make it worse. JR Smith's history doesn't make it worse.

For everyone that compares Smith to Artest, they seem to forget that Artest went into the fucking stands and was ALWAYS going to punished harshly because of it. Even with Smith's history, nothing compares to that.

Was it @Czvosec that wanted to do a $10 donation bet? I'll take you up on it.

Just a couple of months ago, JR was supposed to be the throwaway in the trade for Shumpert. Now guys are talking about his looming suspension like he's the game changer. He's been great for us this season, but we most definitely don't need him to win a series. We have guys who can pick up the slack while he's gone. Heck, Chicago is a top 3 defensive team, especially in terms of 3 point percentage against. I think the more we see Shumpert on the floor, the better. I don't see Smith hanging in there with Butler anyway. I'm more concerned about not having Love for the series. The Bulls have a huge front line. I want to see Marion as our backup 4 only when Mirotic is playing the 4. But The 3-4-5 minutes are going to be scary the entire series if Love is out. Basically 3 positions unevenly distributed between LeBron, Marion, TT, Mozgov, James Jones and possibly Perkins.

3- LeBron (35 min) Marion (5 min) JJ (8 min)
4- TT (25 min) LeBron (6 min) Marion (12 min) JJ (5 min)
5 - Mozgov (35 min) TT (10 min) Perkins (3 min)

Obviously this is just my current assumption but we're going to need big guys out there because Gasol, Noah and Taj Gibson will have the size on most of our guys. The 1-2 positions are going to be tough as well, but if Kyrie can hit about 40 minutes a game and Shumpert can do about 35, the 21 left over can be filled by Miller, Delly, JJ and possibly Harris. It sucks that we lost two guys for at least one game today, but I'm hoping that pushes the team to be even better and put effort into playing hard.

I could see them giving him more than one. He delivered a damn knockout blow to Crowder. Probably only one, but I wouldn't be surprised.
