Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
About that play that hasnt been mentioned yet i think, horford dragging delly onto carroll, isnt that in itself a recipe for an injury? Delly could have turned an ankle or hurt carroll himself. It looks like delly did step on carrolls foot.
Yeah but according to the national media, Delly is just a talentless grub who is only in the league to niggle and lame. So I guess his health doesn't matter.

Living here, I can tell you that the city of Atlanta (from the fans to the radio and television personalities all the way down to the players) came into this playoff series thinking they were entitled to the NBA Championship round. That we were a speed bump. That they were going to wrap it up in four or 5. That our team was merely made up of Lebron and a bunch of rec leaguers. That we should just lie down and let them get it over with quickly because they had the best record in the East and were the #1 seed and we had nowhere near the overall talent that they did. Well guess what? We didn't lie down ...Instead, we are showing who the better team is, who the best team in the East HAS BEEN throughout the second half of the season, and who the tougher team is. The Hawks are a beaten team. (they were done after game 1, to be honest) They are soft. And, instead of blaming themselves for the losses (Korver's poor playoff in total; Carroll's and Millsap's relative ineffectiveness against Lebron; their poor defense; their overall poor shooting) they are blaming everyone else. In game 1, it was "the refs". In game 2, it was "injuries". (I laughed at that one) In game three, it was "Matthew Dellavedova's dirty play". It was never "the Cavaliers are just a better team". -- I am on the edge of my seat right now as to what the excuses will be after we close them out tonight.

I say all of that to make the point that the false allegations made against Delly by the Hawks players, fans, and national media are an emotionally irrational response to being so thoroughly beaten down by a better team that it is all they have left without having to force themselves to look in the mirror and come to terms with the truth. The Celtics and Bulls were hesitant to do the same and resorted to the same kind of rough and dirty play that Atlanta is starting to exhibit. They are bullies getting bullied and they don't like it.

If I am a teammate like Lebron, Mozzy, TT, or JR, I am watching Delly's back tonight. I wouldn't be surprised to see more extra-curricular activity from the Hawks aimed in the direction of a guy whose only crime is that he wants it more than any of the "entitled" players on that Hawks roster right now. He has gotten into their heads. And it will cost Atlanta the series ...

I was a few rows from the play and saw it happen live. Many fans missed it as the play was developing to the far basket. There was little outcry from the fans when it happened since, again, most missed it. I yelled out and signaled for the refs to eject Horford and loudly and boisterously encouraged others around me to do likewise. It's called home court advantage and fans can have a snowball effect. I agree that the replays helped as, again, most did not see it and it was away from the play. Sunday's crowd was a partying crowd and very loud after each replay. The loudest yells seem to come from the third level.

Fans going tonight need to keep the refs honest. It's us against the world. We know how the national media is trying to screw us and influence the NBA, so we need to do our part.

The Hawks' talk make it seem like Horford's elbow chop was premeditated. The national media ignores the fact that Horford also fell on Delly's arm with his ass.

Blatt needs to play Perkins for a few minutes early, to deter any cheap shots.

And the crowd needs to continue its great support of Delly with chants of his name as it did Sunday. And boo the hell out of Horford each time he touches the ball.

Thanks for posting that. Seeing non-Cavs fans equally baffled by this helps a lot lol. Even most of the Bulls fans on there thought this whole thing was crazy.

Someone posted a link to a RealGM thread that is dedicated to Dellavedova being dirty, everyone there has some made up fantasy that he lunged himself towards Horford's knees, and that the video evidence is definitive.

Delly strikes me as a guy who could not give less of a fuck what the opponents think of him. As long as Blatt and Lebron are patting him on the back he will roll on every ankle in America.

Lebron learned the hard lesson over the years that it's best not to even look at the sports center, game summaries, opinion pieces, blogs or twitter during the playoffs. It does nothing but take a player off his game. If there's something really important out there, the team will bring it to you. He definitely gave the team the "playoff bunker" speech at the end of the season. I'm pretty sure that Delly is smart enough to follow the advice. Even if he didn't, he's probably enough of a bad ass to save all his rage for the floor.

Right. I remember JR talking about watching the game during his suspension. He said he watched the game on mute (Lebron's orders) with his uncle.

I... I can't do this. Done. Watch the fucking plays before you shove your misinformed opinions down everybody's throats. In fact, watch Delly for an entire season and not just 2 games before forming an opinion on him.

This is so. fucking. wrong.

Hack journalism to smear a player's name that works as hard and relentlessly as Delly. Guy has busted his fucking ass to get to where he is. Hustle, hard work, preparation, and dedication.

Something these journalists clearly lack in their respective careers.

Greenburg might be my most hated ESPiN personality. Grew up in NY and went to Northwestern. Tries to play himself off as "the common man" when all he's ever done is work and live in big markets with a silver spoon in his mouth. Constantly shits on small markets in an extremely passive aggressive manner. He's the epitome of an ivory tower, elitist snob.

Delly getting a bum rap... I mean, check out this rare home movie. Even when he was tot in the Outback, he showed a sense of empathy and caring for lower limb injuries.

I think it's awesome that Delly has the ability to see the situation behind him and contort his body to actually go after Horfords lower leg. All this while falling over Carroll and having his arm being held onto.

He needs to change professions
