JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He should be afraid to shoot. He can't make anything.

And by the way that's the nature of a streak shooter. When it's going in they'll take all sorts of crazy shots. When it's not they get a little gun-shy.
That's the last thing he should be afraid to do now regular season I understand but now disagree. Him not shooting is the definition of giving up in the finals and we supposed to be ok with that lol. If he has a good shot take it I can't support not giving full effort on top of making stupid decisions.

Even LBJ was disgusted with this dude tonite looked him off a few times. All he has to do is play his game not look off shots because they aren't falling and because Klay is front of him wtf. We're not asking for much just play your game but a little smarter and doesn't mean don't shoot and only drive which he never did anyway.

Dude looks completely lost out there.

Give his minutes to Miller/Marion. They can't possibly contribute anything less than he has all series.

Yes, this is me being completely knee-jerk, and no, I'm not being serious. But he needs to start hitting some shots. He gave absolutely nothing positive tonight.

You can tell dude is spooked by those weak ass half asked drives to the basket

I mean, he wasn't that bad in game 3. I was hoping that would be the start of a turnaround, but obviously it wasn't.

It's not ideal that we are relying on J.R. Smith to hopefully score 15-20 and be our second best offensive player against a 67 win team. That was never his intended role here. He's been thrust into it and has done an okay job at times and a terrible job at times.

I'm just saying, as quickly as JR tanked tonight, he can score 25 on Sunday, and then maybe go 3-17 again in game 6. Who knows. Anything is possible, I just know that he's one of the only semi healthy bodies we have left to try and win two of the final 3 games of the NBA season and we have to ride or die with him. We may die, but J.R. has still been a positive for us for the majority of his time on the team this year. I realize we're all emotional but Steph Curry is the MVP and shot 5-23 in an NBA finals game. LeBron scored what, 12 points in a game against Dallas in 2011?

Hopefully he can lay some pipe in Oakland on Sunday. I still have faith. That's all I'm saying
I understand that he can go off anytime that's not my issue with him. My point is his effort is suspect and he is doing things that he has never done like being trigger shy, driving repeatedly with minimal success and constant fouling. I want the dude to go hard is all I'm saying stay true to himself, stop thinking so much, and play smarter. His talent evaluation is not a question with me just his head and heart atm.

Might be time for someone to go find an attractive girl(or two... or three) and a bottle of vodka, send them to Jr's place so we can get the real JR back.

I agree. He's had some mental lapses as well this series, but I do at the very least think he's done a good job on Klay when given the task. I will say that for him. Plus, Klay is a really long and athletic defender who is obviously bothering J.R. more than normal. He's blocked J.R. a lot which is, I think, making J.R. a little gunshy on the normal turn-around stepback triples with a hand in his face. If that hand in his face ends up smacking the ball back into his face 3 times a game, it changes things alot.

I agree with your one point very strongly though. He really just needs to stop thinking so much. Especially when LBJ is on the bench. I'd rather have J.R. dribble out the clock 3 times and hoist three contested 30 footers rather than do these behind the back dries or see Delly throwing up floaters. We wouldn't have gone down 10 instantly in the 4th if J.R. would have done that instead of us clanking shots and turning it over leading to us being out of position and Warriors getting fast breaks.

Great analysis I agree 100 percent.

He's the only reason we've gotten this far. We struggle against the Bulls without him. I'll give him a pass for that. He just needs to sling some threes whenever and wherever he wants.

I kinda get the same feeling I had with Mo in 09-10. Dude can light it up but can't be relied upon to be a #2 scorer. Is great as a #4 option, which he normally would be.

Mo always disappeared in the big moments. I think it's that he plays best when he's having fun. He's being too serious in these finals. Dude just needs to laugh and not get all serious.

I wouldnt say he's the "only" reason, he did his part though. Doesnt really matter right now, we need him to show up ASAP.

His play this series is exactly why he will be back here next year. Nobody is throwing big money at a guy this flaky. He has been flat out horrendous this series.

He's a spot up fourth option guy who had played out of his ass until this series.
It's just horrible timing to lose his stroke. They really need his points.
