Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't think it's fair to assess whether Green outplayed TT. I'd love to see what Greens stats would've looked like without Klay Iggy and Bogut
Well same can be said about Tristan without Bron and we know what he is without him

I'd argue that what Shumpert does is more valuable than TT...locking down other teams' biggest offensive weapons while contributing on the offensive end.

Yea, that is one thing that's been overlooked. The finals could have been much worse for us if Klay Thompson really got going. Shump prevented him from doing that its just that Iggy stepped up and JR didnt.

Against teams like the Bulls/Hawks Tristan has a lot of value. But thats only because those teams couldnt score a lot either.

If the Bulls had a legit offense I think we lose that series (with a banged up Kyrie and no Kevin Love)

Against Golden State Tristan playing major mins kind of exposed us. The lack of spacing and lack of scoring from him just doesnt make us as much of a threat. We cant keep up with teams like that. I saw times in the finals it seemed like he ran from the ball or either got the offensive rebound and refused to attack the basket. I dont blame him because we were down 2 star players and forced him out of his natural role. But if you're wanting 17 mil a year..

Its not my cash. Just hope that Kevin Love and Kyrie stay healthy.

Expanding on what Windhorst said on his show. It sounds like the Cavs are still offering in the $80-$90 million range it's just that they are loading the contract with incentives.

Rich probably just wants the guaranteed money up front.

Sign Bismarck Biyambo for like 1/4 of the price. How is Tristan any different than JJ Hickson??

Welp. I'm glad I'm not the first to mention this. :chuckle:

I just looked up JJ's per 36 as a Cav with LeBron and the year without him.

Player A
13.1/10.5
11.4/10.8

Player B
14.7/8.5
17.6/11.1

Player B is Hickson.....and he was just 21 and 22 years old. Could make the case he had more potential/value at the time.

Hate sounding like a hater. Cause I really appreciate Tristan's efforts and do think unlike Hickson he will improve. Its just right now I think he's a 14 or 15 mil kind of player. But I guess what does it matter if he's overpaid a couple mil. So its not a big deal.

I said it before, and I will say it again, I would pull my offer and tell him to go see what he can get and come back to us. Then, either let him go or match what will likely be a lot less than we are already offering. Thompson is so overrated.

Hickson had an ego and didn't get offensive rebounds like TT. Not even in the same level. Also Hickson took a lot of midtanges and tried to do too much. On top of all that Hickson wanted a huge contract too

J.J.'s OR numbers aren't that far off of Tristan's, except for his first 2 years in the NBA (I wonder what they are per 36?) He also has a higher career FG%. I'm not saying he is great or anything, but it shows how similar he is to Tristan which makes Tristan's demands crazy.

Hickson said "I am the best PF in the league". lol.

Or Rich Paul/Lebron not signing/negotiating until TT's deal is done, which has been reported numerous times. That is all the trump card they ever needed.

Reported where? A bunch of fans on here spread that rumor. Unless you have a direct link or tweet?

TT should of took the 80 million and be happy. He's not even worth that but we need him as a player to do the dirty work.

He's worth nothing more. It's a joke that in his mind, he is worth more. Cavs brass are probably appalled that he turned down 80 million as reported that's what it was looking like, then something changed.

Gotta hate when a bench guy gets starters pay. Mozzy will probably get Asik money next year.

The contract talks stalling is music to my ears. It just means the Cavs are trying to save some millions and not just act like money doesn't matter. With any luck, we can shave off enough money to pay Delly.

Well, the truth is that TT can't go anywhere else this year unless we don't match some huge contract that very likely isn't coming anyway. Realistically, he'll be here for 2015-16 no matter what. And LBJ isn't going anywhere else either this season either.

The truth is that while not signing TT to a long-term deal could potentially bite us in the ass big-time for 2016-17, it's really not going to mean jack shyte for this coming season.
