I....I had to X you.

Hope you understand, man.

Ehh.. now folks are starting to get emotional and here come the down-ratings..

Forget it... turn the echo-chamber back on.

I think it's funny how upset we get at the "disagree" rating. Once I disagreed with a Big Mar post, and then I found him gravedigging and disagreeing with old posts of mine. Weird.

Not quite sure I get the call for more youth when all of the players people keep complaining about are here for the very very short term...this is, most likely, the last year Miller and Jones play, and this deal for RJ is done after 1 year...quit acting like these are long-term players holding down roster spots for years to come. Also, do Tristan, Delly, and either JR or Shump not count towards the bench youth anymore?

Anyways, back to the Jefferson deal, not going to blow the doors off of anyone, including me, but its better than the alternatives out there, at least IMO. Really wanted Gerald Green, but he clearly valued playing with Dragic and getting more PT over winning championships, so fuck him. Not a Prince fan by any means, as he reeks of Marion 2.0. Not a Dorell Wright fan either, because we already have enough players who have been consistently injured throughout their careers on our roster.

Jefferson has missed 8 total games the last 2 seasons, has shot 40%+ from 3 in 4 of his last 5 seasons (why I think he is a much better vet min sign than Marion was), will be a good locker room guy no matter what his role is (again, better then Marion), and still showed flashes of quite a bit of athleticism last season. Not a big fan, but certainly a better get than anything left in the free agent pool for my tastes.

Well we kept our excellent team intact, we added two guys who are excellent three point shooters, and we likely extend Haywood into a mechanism that we used last season to great effect.

Trying to figure out what exactly there is to be disappointed in?

.

Honestly, I see him being completely redundant with JJ, and would have preferred to see us add a plus defender rather than a plus shooter.

But, I get the cap and tax angle so I really can't be pissed.

And by 'this board' you mean 'the internet'. And anyway... most of the posters around here aren't sheep or in an 'echo chamber'.. at least, not the long time members. It's the best board around from that aspect. Although I have to admit I reaaaaaally hope I'm not one of the people that hit 'dumb' on that post in your sig. :anv (13):

Not a terrible signing based on his stats at least. Shot 44% from the field and 43% from the 3pt line on 2 attempts per game, about 17 mpg.

That said I've never really been a huge fan of his game and he is already 35....could completely fall off the cliff at any moment.

Sort of a "Meh".

Meh, I don't see that parallel as much as you. Jefferson has Jones by about 20 pounds, is (still) able to operate as a wing and can still get up and down the court.

Jones cannot play the 3 because he's light and pretty immobile and his feet move like a 5. Richard Jefferson can play the 3 and is much more versatile than Jones.

There wasn't much out there so signing Jefferson to a vet minimum will hardly make or break the team. Would have rather had Ty Prince but oh well.

He signed Kevin Love to a 5 year deal is pretty good or great if you ask me...

I'm not sure how much Griffin had to do with Love re-upping but will say having Love back certainly saved the offseason for me. Losing him would've been a disaster. That signing alone gives the Cavs a solid B for the offseason.

Yeah I'm a little disappointed as far as the draft, free agency and the Haywood contract have gone. Griffin did make it seem like they had some big stuff up their sleeve but do understand alot of that was out of their control. It is a little frustrating when you consider they wasted a valuable roster spot on Haywood all last season. At least they will still have some flexibility assuming they get a TPE.

Oh and yes I do love this board but do agree like most internet forums it can be a little emo. I expressed an honest opinion on Delly (I like Delly but don't want to overpay for him) last week and one of his fan boys, who never posts but has a quick trigger finger when it comes to rating posts that don't 100% jive with his Delly love, just had to ding me. It can be a little frustrating...

Meh, Screw it, welcome aboard Richard.

That is so creepy...

Well this came out of left field....

Exactly as I've been saying with respect to how the Haywood contract may work out. The Cavs operate out of strict secrecy. When you hear rumors, it's usually BS made up by agents or writers who are looking for hits. Look for something out of left field with Haywood's contract.

James Jones, Mike Miller, and Richard Jefferson should not all be on the same team, this is ridiculous.

This much i will agree with.

Sadly i still want Jones back as he proved to be somewhat useful last year.

Miller is purely a lockeroom guy at this point, but he had the player option so cant kick him to the coaching staff just yet.
