If you box the Boban out...
The body fluids of the Boban will be on you!
Holy shit the Ferengi are real?

This argument is so flawed. Noone cares about what Richard Jefferson did 5 years ago. its about how much he has left in the tank and can contribute now.Jefferson made 100 mil in his career. So we are getting a high caliber player, even though obviously quite old. Still, he can be great for us. Just to compare, JJ made 20 mil in his career and he is almost the same age.
concern that he might not be up to the job to fill his anticipated role are quite legitimate.
Seriously though, with how minimally our bench contributed last year, anybody who can come off and give us meaningful minutes is a sight for sore eyes. I'll be like the entourage in Silver Linings Playbook when they scored a measly "5" compared to the other duos' "7" and "8s"...cheering effusively when a bench player makes a basket.I like the bar that's being set by all the reporters- to "not be a corpse"
Seems attainable enough...
I'm not sure his role really changes. Perhaps he can go down to 2 guard and play big, but I think Delly is going to soak up most of the minutes. It didn't work too well when Marion was tried there, but Jefferson is also a better shooter. I think he will mostly play backup 3 and maybe every now and then he can play with bron in a 3/4 lineup. Because of the personnel you just don't see LeBron much at PF. Love pretty much exclusively has to play there, and he needs 30 + minutes. Then you have Tristan that is capable of playing big minutes and dances between 4/5.Jefferson hitting that corner 3 at a good clip would be a huge boost with Shump out for a couple months.

I really hope he has more in the tank than Marion did though. Jefferson has bounced around a lot recently, but has been productive and you would think he is really hungry with this being his last shot.

They are more similar than that, but what made Marion hard to play(specifically at 2 guard) was his inability to make open shots. Jefferson can seemingly play there if he continues making open threes. @I'mWithDan brought up the real concern; which is defending shooting guards. I'm going to stick to my guns and say that Jefferson will pretty much exclusively be used as a backup SF and maybe a pinch of small ball pf once in a blue moon.Marion and Jefferson are different players. Marion for his career has always been a combo forward and Jefferson a combo wing. Apples and oranges except they both came to us with their best years behind them and both can play sf.
When LeBron is in with another wing it is kind of debatable who the power forward is. LeBron has always functioned really well playing with another wing in the front court with him. There is a lot of flexibility with this roster assuming the old guys can give good minutes. At this point, you have to consider Jefferson to be a small ball PF, along the same lines as James Jones.
