Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just think Sting putting Rollins over would be great. He's already had years or championship reigns. I'd rather see Rollins have a really special title run.

Like you said, there are no real contenders. I'd give him at least until Wrestlemania with the belt, if not longer.

Haven't seen a 2 year long title reign in a while, I'd like to see that.

Yes, but he's never had the WWE title. It'd be an amazing moment. Rollins has his whole career ahead of him, but this is Sting's only shot to get the WWE title.

Two year reigns just don't happen anymore and haven't for a while. The last 2 year long reign was Hogan's first title reign.

Hell, Punk was the last 1-year long reign and that was the first one since Cena in '06. Before Cena, it was Savage back in '88 (Hogan and Diesel came close but fell short of the 1 year mark).

I'm all for long title reigns, 100% behind it. However, this is just an opportunity to do something special and, IMO, they should do it.

It'll be a very special moment to see Sting hoist up that belt in a win, and MoFlo pointed out before, a loss to Triple H set up a one time title reign for Sting, there are deals such as this negotiated in contracts. Something has to show for his WM loss and what better showing than a title reign. Of course it's speculation, but it makes total sense after what transpired last night.

I'm guaranteeing a Sting run here, the way he looked at that belt and held it high and if you read his lips, he said you and me.

If Sting were to get the Title .... who takes it from him? Sheamus? ( added to make Brick cringe)
I dont think he would have it that long

I predicted Sheamus to cash in on Sting in my long winded post on my thoughts after Summerslam and Raw, and what I see WWE doing this fall. I would hope the cash in wouldn't be the same night he wins it, but I could see it happening the following night on Raw at the earliest. In no way do I want this to happen, but it makes some sense given a) Stings age and part timer status, and b) the fact WWE is trying to make Sheamus the most hated heel on the roster right now.

Also, I guess the silver lining with Rollins never winning cleanly under his current run as champ is that it would make an old Sting beating him in one night look more credible than if Rollins was on this massive 6 month tear.

Maybe Sheamus tries to cash in at Night of the Champions (presumably when Sting will win the title) and fails? That would get rid of that terrible plot line. I have to imagine there isn't a single fan out there that wants Sheamus to hold the belt, so him cashing it in and failing would be great, and it would be even greater if it was the same night Sting won it. Everyone would think that Sting was about to drop the belt to Sheamus and would be furious, only to be overjoyed when he fails and Sting retains the title. It'd be an awesome moment.

Which is why it won't happen, but still.

Reigns is miles better on the mic than Cesaro is. Cesaro can barely talk at all. Reigns can at least string coherent sentences together, even if he's nowhere near star-caliber on the mic.

I don't know about miles better. Reigns has improved since his main event push earlier in the year, when he was cringe worthy, but he still struggles. I don't think Cesaro is great by any means either, but I think it has more to do with his accent hurting the delivery than just flat out sucking.

I guess I just don't think Sting winning the title now would be that special. It's not like he's been trying and failing to get the title.

Maybe if they had him lose a couple times, get denied another rematch, win the Rumble, and cut a bunch of promos about how much it would mean to him, then I could get on board with Sting having a Wrestlemania moment and taking down his first WWE Title. That would be cool.

However, him taking it down in the next PPV or two just doesn't do anything for me.

Meh, he's already established himself as one of the all time greats in the wrestling business over the past 25-30 years. Your scenario mentioned above feels almost identical to that of Daniel Bryan's from Summerslam in 2013 to WrestleMania in 2014 with the whole battling adversity, getting screwed over by the authority, cheated out of matches, etc before finally winning the title and getting a WrestleMania moment. It's too soon to rehash that whole story.

Plus it doesn't make sense with Sting. As you said, he's an all-time great. He shouldn't need to battle adversity to get a title shot. Bryan's story worked because it was almost a mirror of what was going on behind the scenes, with the WWE not thinking Bryan was championship material. The crowd revolted, and WWE was forced to relent and give him his Wrestlemania moment. That story just won't work with a legend like Sting.

I just think giving him the title right now is lazy and lame. There needs to be a couple months of build.

just watched raw. it was a great episode.

I like the 4 man tag team. Ryback and Owens looks like a good match.

Apparently Rusev and/or Owens will get to match up with big show. Im assuming it will be owens first since Ziggler is wasting everyones time with his rusev feud.

One thing in stings favor is he dont look as old as undertaker because of the face paint.
Dudley boys looked pretty good and the new wyatt guy is a beast. Braun Strowman appeared a few times on NXT as Braun Stowman.

What's wrong with Sting in the title picture? Who else do you prefer... Cena again? Reigns again? Ambrose again? Orton again? Lesnar is part time and dealing with Taker still. Bryan is out. I mean, I get it, the guy is old... but at least it's something fresh and unexpected. He's a modern day wrestling legend, but has never been after or held the WWE Title before.

Hey I don't mind Sting getting a shot and losing, but if he wins, that is just terrible, I don't care if he was a legend 10 years ago.

If they want to put a belt on him, make a new belt, and call it the handicapped strap.

I personally wouldn't of been having Wyatt just doing nothing the past few months, could of gave him and Rollins a good feud with great matches.

Oh, and can Sting even give a good match at this point? His match with HHH was slow and really hard to watch.

Probably not. Then again, Taker just put out a pretty decent match for an old man, although he's six years younger than Sting.

I'd rather watch Sting out there than Kane or the Big Show, though. Both of those guys need to fucking retire.

I don't mind sting winning the belt. It would defiantly be interesting.

Loved the idea someone had about Rollins and Wyatt, but then again they consider Wyatt a heel and they never have heel vs heel title matches.

Honestly I think Sting and Rollins is a good little title match, and it works pretty well.

Dudleyz will be fun to have back. Maybe a table title match?
