2015 Buckeyes Football

Granted, they haven't caught a damn ball. But I guess we could be in a shittier situation. Young guns need to step up for 1 game. And they will all be gunning for it to stay on the field the rest of the way.

Braxton & Zeke need to just go off & have career days. Same with JT/Jones
 
Hopefully Dixon can step up....he was a highly-touted recruit that has been hit with the injury bug. I am sure his confidence has taken a hit. Frustrating that we have barely heard anything regarding his training camp progress...I don't think that bodes well.

We need someone to step up game 1. Losing Brown will change the game plan immensely. Perhaps this will be Miller 2.0's coming out party?
 
Even with all the guys who will miss the VT game, they'll still have EIGHT 4-star WRs dressing for the game.

That doesn't include Miller or Torrence Gibson.

So at the end of the day, there's no excuse not to roll.
 
Much like the last three games, just give the damn ball to Zeke.
 
Samuel look good in the passing game last year, granted it was a small sample size. You'd have to assume he will play role against VT.

Gibson is the only "WR" who gives us imposing size and he isn't even a WR.

For VT, i expect some unorthodox formations to open the passing game up. We just need to confuse VT for a split second here and there for air-bomb potential.
 
Pound, pound, pound the ball.

When you throw the ball, try and make them quick slants, out routes and some curls. Try and keep it easy. Surprise every once in a while with a deep ball to Gibson/Thomas.

Run a lot of options. We need to use the running ability of JT (who I think will start) or even Cardale.

I think we should play our 1st game kind of like Army. I am not saying run the triple option every damn play, but we are going to have to beat VT on the ground and with our D.

Keep em guessing, but pound.

I think Elliot will have something to prove vs VT.... last year he only had 8 rushes for 32 yds.

Everyone knows how well he did the last 3 games with 200+... but he rushed for 100+ yds in 9 of the last 12 games last year, and 7 of the last 12 games he had 20+ carries... and that includes blowout games were he wasn't needed as much.

The team wants to make a statement to the nation, and a lot of revenge for the loss last year.... the defense wants to dominate... and they could against a suspect VT o-line... but VT does have talent on offense... but if the Silver Bullets control the line.... things could get very intense.

On defense I think VT will be strong in coverage... so OSU hurting at WR is not a good thing for a couple reasons. Pound the ball, play action, control the o line... Buckeyes I think will cover the spread, even if it goes back up some.

Elliot has nothing to prove. It's not his fault the coaches refused to give him the ball in that game. It was incredibly mind boggling.

But yeah, that's my point. 8 carries is a fucking joke. It's like the coaches forgot that the running attack has been our best offense in the Urban era. Everyone is enamored with the QBs and the talent at WR, but our best offense has been riding Hyde or riding Zeke (with zone reads also of course).

Just run the ball. Nobody has been able to stop our running attack in the Urban era, except ourselves against VT last year.

Give Zeke at least 20-25 carries every game and we will not lose a game this season.
 
Zeke is absolutely not going to get 20-25 carries per game.

And last year he was coming off a pretty serious wrist injury he was able to play through.

They won't need to give Elliott that many carries to win games, there are just so many touches to go around. I'd prefer to keep him limiting his carries until you absolutely need to.
 
Don't mean to change topic, but just throwing it in here...

Ordered a 2015 National Championship Bosa jersey from aliexpress about 5 days ago. Should be coming in the mail hopefully in a week or 2. Hopefully before VT game. Will let you guys know how it turned out.

With the jersey sales only going to #1 & the current year and no names, I wanted to jump on it in case they stop making the jerseys too, for some reason.

Agreed. I guess I should have phrased it better. Any game he gets that many carries will result in a win. Whether it is necessary or not will obviously depend on the opponent.

We needed him last year against VT and he wasn't given a chance. We will likely need him again this year against VT, especially with the hits to the WR corps.

Please do....My AliExpress Irving throwback jersey looked awesome....until i was at The Q sitting next to someone with the same authentic version of the jersey.
