I don't understand why you're acting like Kyrie is 32 with bad knees.

Because now he is until proven otherwise. (no 32)

The Cavs also want to cut Irving's minutes. Mo Williams was signed to help out at point guard. Irving is coming off surgery for a fractured knee cap, so it makes sense to keep his workload light in the regular season.

Honestly Kyrie needs to be put in bubble wrap like Miami did with Mike Miller until the playoffs. Good idea to not play him for a while.

Upsetting but i would rather have him miss half of the first season then any part of the post-season.

May be a blessing in disguise as Irving and James developed chemistry much quicker than anticipated. LBJ and Love's game, on paper, mesh well but it didn't translate that way on the court except for a mere handful of games.

Not a surprise, guys, if you've been paying attention. His Twitter comments have been ambiguous but generally positive.

But let's look back at the complexities of his "knee tendinitis" and ankle problems in the playoffs...(this was before the fractured kneecap)-

Ok, we don't need to rehash Kyrie's injury history every time we get an update on his kneecap.

Dude literally cracked his knee in half. I'm fine with him sitting a couple of months if that's what it takes.

Believe me, I get that, but you're making the classic mistake of looking at only the latest injury. Because his latest one (kneecap) is superficial and should heal fine doesn't neccessarily mean that the other 2 previous issues have gone away.

(I don't assume that if Kevin Love's shoulder heals well that his back (that bothered him all season) is miraculously healed)

The Cavs aren't very confident in Kyrie's health right now. Otherwise they wouldn't be doing this. It's that simple.

You should be concern. Not just about the regular season, but if there's something that could cause him problems going forward?

Not trying to be pessimistic, but an extra two months off from an injury that should be healed by then.

I don't think it's the Cavs being cautious, but fearful of something else. I hope I am wrong. We just want this kid healthy by June.

Honestly the setback isn't that big of a deal (unless it went on to affect his longterm career, which I doubt it will). The regular season means pretty much nothing, ESPECIALLY when you're playing in the Eastern Conference. Plus we have Mo Gotti and Delly, who can both run the point with him out. Most importantly, however, this gives us the opportunity to involve Love more.

The regular season means nothing? I disagree, you're playing for home court. It means a lot.

You want to have home court in the playoffs. It doesn't mean everything, but it still means something.

I don't think the Cavs would be talking about sitting Kyrie for 2 months into the season, in August, unless they're fearful up something. It sounds a little dramatic to be talking about taking it that careful, when the NBA season is still months away.

I'm not concerned at all. Might as well rest him as long as possible. Don't need him for the regular season anyways

We do if we want to rest James more. The only other "playmaker" is Mo if Irving is out a long time and even then I don't really consider Mo a "playmaker"
