Figured since the first wave of cuts are due today, we can post any relevant info here. Stuff leaks before a story is posted, so Twitter will be ablaze with cut news today. Try to keep the Around The NFL content to a minimum, but feel free to post & discuss other players cut around the NFL who may fit in Cleveland.

From yesterday:

Waived:

TE Anthony Ezeakunne

WR Shane Wynn

Contract terminated:

LB Everette Brown

LB Moise Fokou

RB Jalen Parmele

DB Aaron Ross

From today:

Some more. Most surprising thing is Michael Bowie. I wonder what the issue is with him as he's gotten reps; didn't realize he was so injured..

Placed on Reserve/Injured:

OL Michael Bowie (shoulder)

QB Connor Shaw (right thumb)

Placed on Reserve/Non-Football Injury:

DB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (knee)

TE Randall Telfer (foot)

RB Glenn Winston (knee)

Kinda want us to look at Fred Jackson, for the simple reason that he always finds a way on my PPR fantasy team. The guy is a tank and will retire when he is dead.

But on a serious note, not sure he could be any worse than West. Veteran presence for our young RB's and could probably still cut it as a third down back. Better option than Ray Rice.

Jackson's going to Seattle...

Totally agree, although I can't remember if he played in the last game. Maybe he got hurt again or they decided he needed another surgery? Either way, Farmer clearly believes in the guy if he's keeping him around again.

Kitchen tried really hard when the interior of the defensive line got banged up in 2014, but his high snap percentage was a big reason the team finished last against the run. He's a third string nose tackle and Farmer collects defensive linemen like dorks collect action figures, time for him to find a job elsewhere.

Upsetting. Was rooting for the local product.

Um, bye Phil Taylor.....

Waived:

DL Ishmaa’ily Kitchen

FB Luke Lundy

K Carey Spear

Contract Terminated:

DL Phil Taylor

I kind of had a feeling they might let him go. At least it clears the way for Shelton to get plenty of playing time, although I'm not sure who our other NTs are after we just let the 2nd and 3rd string guys go.

This makes it a bit more surprising... Browns will be on the hook if (when) nobody picks him up off waivers.

Promising that enough guys are there to supplant he and Kitchen, if you're looking for something other than a Julio Jones joke.

Money isn't an issue for us though (at least as far as our ability to stay under the cap), so I'm glad they are making moves based on merit and not just whether or not they've already guaranteed a dude's salary.

They weren't. Cooper, Winn, Hughes, and now Meder have all been significantly better than the aforementioned.

I'm completely fine with scrapping the nose tackle corp that headed the worst run defense in the league last year (Taylor, Kitchen, Rubin).

The fact they're willing to cut Phil Taylor makes me excited for the DL.

Des Bryant looked like a manchild for most of the pre-season. Shelton has been a steady force, despite the Browns easily picking up better value in the fifth round.

Meder, Cooper, Hughes all impressing.

Really think this defense has the most potential of any since the return.
