Dear God, I pray I'm not going to have to see this Fail for Cardale nonsense all year.
You won't bc once we are on our way to 11-5 it'll be a moot point.

Vegas had the Browns O/U at 6.5 last week. I bet the under. I'll go 5.
not good enough to make the playoffs or go anywhere, not bad enough to get one of the QBs at the top of the draft. yep those are my Browns, i have them winning 6 games

Just good enough for people to get mad when others complain during the offseason.

I'm going to be the type of fan I typically hate this season. I'm rooting for epic failure. I'm convinced that we need a top 2 pick to get a top flight QB prospect, something we haven't had since Couch, and hope we hit on it. These bottom round 1st round QBs just aren't cutting it. #FailForCardale #LBJTake2

you know i have given up on rooting for this when it comes to the Browns. they always win 1 or 2 more games than they should, it's a tradition. at this point i'm convinced only a draft lottery can save them, i have no idea why there isn't one in the NFL.

For whatever reason, the advocates for tanking don't seem to remember that the Browns could have drafted Ben Roethisberger and Aaron Rodgers and passed on both. And if you look back on the drafts since 1999 I think you'll see a lot more examples of the Browns passing on gifted players than not being in a position to draft those players because they "won too much" (the notion that the Browns have won too many games ought to be accompanied by a laugh track.)

As for predictions... 5-11. The usual.

Which is why those who say "the way to go is building through the draft" have a great memory.

But, they'll cite a few decent picks over the last few years (while ignoring terrible 1st round picks) to showcase how this "new regime" is drafting much better.

5-11

Gonna go w/ 7 wins. That is splitting with Ravens/Cinci & losing both to the Steelers.

- Manziel will be a starter by some point
- Crowell will get 800yds.
- Poopy will get 350yds receiving, if he can stay healthy.
- Our D will once again be Top 5
- Kruger will get 15 sacks
- Gilbert will take 2 KR for TD's
- Hartline/Hawkins will combine for 1600yds
- Shelton will get a Safety
- Andy Lee will punt for 135yds.....in 1 punt.
- Manziel will have 4 rushing TD's

The Browns D and offensive line is good enough to not be the worst team in the league but they aren't good enough to be a playoff team either. As usual, they will be in the 4-7 win range. I am going to go on the low side of this and say 5 wins.

This will put them roughly in the 5-10 pick range. You might have a top overall pick be a QB in the 2016 draft but as of now it doesn't look like it. Goff from Cal, Cardale, Cook, Hackenberg appear to be 1st round candidates and assuredly at least 1 of them will be available in the 5-10 range. If we need a QB this draft I think one will be available at our pick assuming we finish where I think they will.

Four.

Last year, the bottom 5 scoring offenses picked 1,2,3,4,6 with 3 wins on average.

In 2013 they picked 1,3,7,12,18 with 5 wins on average.

In 2012 they picked 1,2,4,7,9 with 4 wins on average.

In 2011 they picked 1,2,3,5,11 with 4 wins on average.

Not a single team finished over .500.

Does ANYONE think we have more than a bottom 5 scoring offense this year? We were 6th worst last year and every team that finished below us now has a better QB and/or more weapons (minus the Jets).

If not, there is just no way our defense, even if it ends up Top 10, will keep us out of the cellar let alone bring us to an above .500 record/playoff appearance. And if we struggle out of the gate and don't go at least 3-0 or 2-1, our Week 4-17 schedule is beyond brutal.

Drink the Kool-Aid while you can my friends because you're going to want some stronger stuff before long.

We might have the best defense in the division. I think the Bengals probably do, if healthy though. The Steelers defense is awful and probably the worst in the division.

The Ravens defense hasn't been the same as well.

I think that alone makes us at least competitive against these teams. Then again, they could both sweep us. I wouldn't be surprised, but they are very beatable teams if the Browns can dictate a low scoring game. And with their defense, they can.

I would agree with you IF we can run the ball effectively on offense. We all know the pass offense will be far below average so its really on the run game to control things.

If we can't run the ball well the defense will be on the field too much. I don't care how talented you are on that side of the ball, if you are never given a break you will wear down late in games. Not to mention injuries start piling up if they are on the field too much.

The difference between 4 wins and 8 is truly the run game.
