Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why does it matter if his teammates are pissed at him (if they even will be at all)? It's not like they are going to freeze him out come playoff time. They need him to win and they know that.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with calling out effort (especially on the defensive end) when that seems to be inconsistent with certain teammates. How many uncontested layups have the Cavs given up in their losses? Some of it may be the limitations of players, but some of it appears to be effort. Delly and LeBron have been the only consistent defenders through the first fifteen games.

Yeah I have to say screw them getting pissed off. They are getting paid millions and the best player in the world wants to make them all champions, make them relevant. So what if he's gonna call them out every now and then when he thinks the effort wasn't there. Boo-freakin'-hoo. Here's an idea, listen to the guy that's been there and done it and wants to take you there and can take you there if you man up and get the job done. Even if its a little awkward and annoying at times, he's allowed to be like that because of who he is and what America has made him since he was a kid. I mean the guy is practically the nicest teammate in the NBA compared to MJ or Kobe.

And then again, the teammates of MJ and Kobe hated them and still won, so...

I certainly hope LeBron doesn't have this "You Should Thank Me" attitude. In case we forgot, this is the guy who spent the 1st half last year taking it easy on defense and trying to get his coach fired so his boy could take over. Don't think his teammates don't remember that.

As for Jordan and Kobe, they had Phil Jackson to help off-set their personalities. Just know that if LeBron is going to feel the need to question everyone's motivation after every single loss, it's gonna wear thin on some guys. ESPECIALLY in light of how he acted to begin the year last season.

Can't deny that there were some weak moments last year, but I think putting his team on his already ailing back and leading them into the finals the first year probably makes up for that.

Anyway I'm not saying that there is no way this thing could possibly backfire. Although anything he may do wrong with interacting with his teammates will likely pale in comparison to shit that Jordan and Kobe have done. I just think some of these other players need to keep their perspective and realize the only thing LBJ is trying to do here is make us a great team and win a championship. He's trying to change the losing mentality that a lot of these players have ingrained into them on a deep level.

The good intentions are there, this year and the second half of last year the effort and leadership by LBJ has been there. Enormous amounts of money are there. The starving fans are there. If they manage to fall apart because LeBron was a little too hard on them then well... fuck that, you know? Man up. I've been yelled at worst in fucking high school football, so get that weak stuff outta here!

How they should think is great, butit doesn't mean they will think that way.

Let's hope the rest of the team isn't alienated

Btw shaq had to leave LA, so maybe Kobe's way wasnt great

It's funny how everyone bitches about Lebron. The fact is we wouldn't be where we are at, players and record, let alone a 2nd Finals apperance, if not for LeBron. Oh and he was here for the franchises 1st Finals apperance in Cavaliers history. Yes he left and we were pissed. But he came back, he admitted to his mistakes. Bottom line is we aren't winning a Finals or even getting there without him. So for people to second guess him or say he's doing things others shouldn't be doing is a mute point. He is the leader and basically coach of this team. If people want to complain about Lebron then you don't want a Championship as bad as he does for the city if Cleveland. So let's just sit back and enjoy the remaining years of his career while he's still playing for us and be thankful he is here not in Miami. And for those who didn't want him here, we aren't winning a Championship without him.

He may not but what are you gonna do? He will be an all time great when it's over and people are taking him for granted. He is on a different level then all others and is able to do things others players cant. There really is no negotiating. You want him here you get the persona.

Take out our two wins against the Sixers and we are at 9-4, which really puts us back in the pack with the Bulls, Heat, and Pacers. Sure we are better than that when (and IF) we can be injury-free, but we are really not playing like a championship team.

I am a fan of taking it easy during the regular season in the sense that the key players shouldn't play too many minutes. But when people are playing they should play RIGHT on both ends of the court. We've seen too much slacking off on defense.
Bulls have wins over Phi and Brooklyn. Miami has wins over Phil, Brooklyn and a Boogie-less Sacramento, and has played 10 of 14 at home. Indiana has a win over Phi.

If you take away those wins from those teams, they are still solidly behind the Cavs.

This.

I haven't seen the game yet (I have it on the DVR), but I was surprised to see that his reaction was so intense to a loss on the road to one of better teams in the East. I mean, it's not like we lost to Philly.

I understand his desire to want to have us cruising early, but this just seems like an overreaction to Golden State's play. If we were fully healthy and were dragging ass that would be a much bigger issue for me, but right now I don't feel like we need to ring the alarm bells constantly.

I think we are all frustrated including the Cavaliers and Lebron because we know we are better than this. It's going to be exciting basketball once we're at full strength. I am looking forward to it.

The claim that Lebron was trying to get Blatt fired was BS last year and it's still BS today.

i get what youre saying, but its the equivalent of saying "mo sucks at defense, but what are you gonna do? shut up about it already."

except lebron is a lynchpin to a championship, just like you said, so a concern with him is magnified and multiplied exponentially.

it is ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYINg if he alienates AN ENTIRE TEAM and we are a hundred percent justified in both being concerned and talking about it.

He is trying to break this team of the mediocrity that all of them outside of Lebron have experienced in their careers when it comes to winning.

He is the only one of the group that understands what it actually takes to win it all, and if he thinks any of these guys are lazy or half assing it he is probably right.

Give me Lebron constantly calling out his teammates every day of the week if it will finally light a fire under their asses. Most of these guys have spent their careers playing for lottery teams. They should be asking him "how high" if he says jump at this point.

The only people who will feel alienated by Lebron are those who have spent their careers shackled in mediocrity. They can get the hell out of here for all I care.

Anyone who genuinely wants to win is going to get on board because they know he's not speaking in platitudes about the work and toughness it is actually going to take to finish the job.

Don't agree with its the equivalent to Mo sucks at D statement. While I'm not going to argue that he really does stink at D, what I'm saying is Lebron is above criticism at this point. We will all look back and say, it was amazing what this guy accomplished in a Cavalier uniform. You have to trust his leadership because of his status
