God damn it so much...

Music Legend David Bowie Dies

"Singer David Bowie has died at the age of 69 following a battle with cancer.

His son confirmed the news and a statement was released on his official social media accounts.

"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer," it said.

"While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief."

The singer only released his latest album Blackstar on his birthday on Friday.

There had been rumours about Bowie's health for years.

His last live performance was at a New York charity concert in 2006.

Blackstar, which includes just seven songs, has been well received by critics.

Bowie's breakthrough came with 1972's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.

His hits include Let's Dance, Space Oddity, Heroes, Under Pressure, Rebel, Rebel, Life on Mars and Suffragette City."

No Sir Christopher Lee, no Bowie. Meh, fuck it. This planet sucks now. I am ready to go anytime.

Somebody better put a 24/7 guard around Prince lest the apocalypse really kick off.

Bowie's not dead, he's just on a different station!

gutted. hard to think of a world without david bowie; he was one of the few who seemed truly immortal.

blackstar was his parting gift to the world and nobody knew it. ugh.

Of all the recent deaths in music, this one hurts the most, by far.

This sucks. Purple rain was one of my favorite movies.

Dude was born to play Elrond in LOTR....

That aside, utterly fantastic voice that could sing just about anything.

Much better than the vastly-overrated, preening Mercury.....

His newest CD (which came out Friday, I believe?) is fantastic. Bowie was a true musician. And while I find some of his fascist-sympathies in the mid-70s ridiculous, that is far outweighed by what he did for the LGBTIA community and the music he created.

Seriously, as a hobby-musician, Bowie's work is magnificent. He will be truly remembered as a legend. This month has sucked. Bowie, Scott Weiland, and Lemmy all passing away. Tough month to be a music lover.

A few weeks ago, I heard on the radio that Bowie officially retired from touring in a press release. I thought that was a weird bit of info since he hadn't toured since the 1990s. Since then he busted out a new album and passed away from a silent cancer bout. Dude kept us all guessing until the end.

He marketed himself as "The Man Who Fell to Earth" and kept us Earthlings guessing until the end. Cool fucking guy.
