Channing Frye

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He had superstar impact in his limited minutes. Don't see why he can't play even very limited minutes against GSW.
Shutting him down prematurely because he couldn't hang with GSW last year is not a good idea imo.

Even so, he should play against the Celtics.

I agree, doesn't make any sense. I'd rather see him playing than RJ at this point!

I swear it seems like Frye and Jefferson play rock paper scissors before playoff series' to determine who will play and who wont.

His absence is a bit odd, especially considering he matches up pretty well with BOS. If Jonas Jerebko can get 15 minutes a game this series, Frye certainly should be getting some burn as well.

RJ has hardly played the last two games so the whole "getting RJ ready for GS" excuse is unfounded.

Despite his excellence in the playoffs, Lue is still capable of pulling a head scratcher here and there.

Part of me thinks that Lue wants to settle into his “Finals rotation”, and Frye isn’t going to play much in the Finals.

The Celtics have been exploiting our non-Frye guys on PnR. Not sure why everyone is clamoring for Frye.

He won't play against GS much if at all. He is a matchup based big. Boston is not a great match-up for him. GS is even worse.

IMO somebody who can shoot the ball as well as Frye isn't a poor matchup for anybody. It's just inexcusable to not give the guy a few minutes of burn when our offense gets stagnant and spacing becomes horrible like last night.

Is he fucking hurt or what?he played amazing in rounds 1 & 2. Why is he not out there?

I guess my big question is why even fucking have him if you won't play him in literally the only series all year that matters

Last year he couldn't play and it made sense to not play him.

This year...why the fuck can't he match up with Zaza or David West?

We pretty much have to play Frye. Our bench production is zilch unless Korver goes nuclear or Deron has an odd "turn back the clock" game.

It just isn't enough. We have a team of subpar defenders, may as well put one out there who can give it back on the other end.

So just have an 8-9 man team? Warriors weren't and won't go more than 8-9 deep either unless it's 15+ point lead in the second half.

Every series matters and different series require different matchups sometimes.

Last year the Cavs were able to defend GS and they had a legit fear in putting Fryes slow feet and weak rebounding in the game.

This year, if they come to the conclusion after tonight or game two that the defense it almost pointless and they need to just hope to spread the court and bomb away, then maybe Frye gets in there.

There is one series that matters. 1.

LeBron, Kyrie, Kevin, and TT alone is enough to get us through the East with even slightly below average

I'm not saying just wave goodbye to Frey. Was implying we try to get someone who CAN play against golden state for him

Wasting a single resource more than a minimum contract filler player worrying about any team but GSW is foolish

The list of front court players who can both defend well against a team like Golden State and deal with their length offensively is pretty small. The list of those players who could be gotten in a trade for Channing is even smaller.

Channing was an upgrade from Andy. He helped us both years against Toronto. Not sure we'll get much more than that out of him. Not sure we could've gotten better for Andy and the 1st we gave up and doubt even more we can trade Frye for someone who impacts against GS

Warriors are not going small, they play a true big for the majority of the game. I don't see a problem with trying Frye and open up the paint.
