Guys, we've gone 10 posts talking about Callaway without @Lee speaking up, has anyone heard from him? :chuckle:
 
Oh how the times have changed. Reading the last few pages is hilarious. We've got an all-time hall of famer at WR and now we are arguing if our other pro-bowl WR is worth keeping because we have another potential pro-bowler waiting in the wake that we snagged in the 4th round.

I'm rock hard right now.

There's not really many people in that middle ground it seems. Outside Cleveland he's a perennial pro bowler that receives a good amount of media attention and is a really well known name. But here... he's just meh for a lot of fans.

I personally think your view of him being a damn good #2 WR is accurate in my opinion and falls in that appropriate middle ground.

I think you put too much weight into pro-bowl selections. They're meaningless--especially when you get in as an alternate. I really don't see anyone calling Jarvis one of the elite WR's in the league.

I decided to back off and let others make my point including Chad Johnson apparently. I made my point on him numerous times, apparently you noticed, lol.

Personally I have Odell in top 5, maybe top 3, and Jarvis top 15, maybe 15 itself. Not sure what you call Elite, but Jarvis is very good.

That feels like a stat that just ranks receivers based on their depth of route.

Lockett at the top. I'm pretty sure he ran the most deep routes last year, and I don't think anyone is calling Tyler Lockett an elite WR.

Landry, Tate, Enunwa at the bottom--all guys who get a ton of catches in the short to intermediate areas of the field.

Sounds like the stat is accurate. Trying to say this stat tells you how good a WR is would be a mistake.

Wide receivers are ranked according to DYAR, or Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement. This gives the value of the performance on plays where this WR caught the ball, compared to replacement level, adjusted for situation and opponent and then translated into yardage. DYAR (and its cousin, YAR, which isn't adjusted based on opponent) is further explained here.

The other statistic given is DVOA, or Defense-adjusted Value Over Average. This number represents value, per play, over an average WR in the same game situations. The more positive the DVOA rating, the better the player's performance. DVOA (and its cousin, VOA, which isn't adjusted based on opponent) is further explained here.

I browse multiple general football forums and I don't see anyone overrating Juice. Even on reddit, most football fans from other teams view him as a really really good #2.

Now if you're listening to dudes like Stephen A Smith then you are probably right.

It bothers me that this is Corbett’s 2nd year in the league, he clearly was outmuscled last season, and this is still his body in OTA’s.

He has such narrow shoulders, no muscle tone. He looks like he’s a high schooler.

This guy needed to put some serious work into getting stronger.

I really don’t want to be negative on him before we see him play actual football games, but it seems he isn’t where you’d expect after having an entire season in the NFL under his belt.
