Game 38 | Hornets @ Cavaliers | Jan. 16th, 8:00PM (ET)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They just showed a stat on ESPN that the Hornets are 18-1 when scoring 97+ and 5-11 when scoring less than 97.

If Ben is in the lineup I'm hoping he and Andy put a body on Chandler and keep him from getting those easy lob passes from CP3. There are only two threats on this team if you take away the lob pass to Chandler because Peja is not nearly the player he used to be, he is so inconsistent. If we can shut David West down and not give him his 10-12 ft jumper that he loves to shoot, we can win this game, even if CP3 goes off. We can keep these guys under 97, as long as we play the defense we are accustomed to playing.

Cavs have given up 97+ at home 3 times, won all 3 times.

Cavs have given up 97+ on the road 4 times, lost all 4 times.

But I agree with ESPN in that if the Hornets score that much tonight, it will be tough for the Cavs to keep up with them.

I've seen us in past years lose a game that we should've won and then bounce back the night after all pumped up and hand it to the other team. Maybe the home record will be just enough to get us through this game? I hope, but I'm not optimistic.

Areas we could get burnt/killed/raped etc. :

1. CP3 - Delonte is out. Mo, Boobie, Wally cannot keep with him around the perimeter. This means Mike might be forced into assigning Sasha on him which could work with his length and size being a factor, or it could backfire major time considering Pavs might be fairly rusty on both ends. Lets just pray Ben shakes hands with Paul before the game. ;) ;)

2. The Frontcourt Battle - So, Lorenzen effectively useless in meaningful minutes for us. Andy's game is also suffering big time because of how much load is being put on him right now. West can score inside, stretch the defense out to mid-range and cause a lot of problems, especially if Lorenzen's out there trying to keep up with him. Chandler isn't much of an offensive threat, but he's so damn strong and could literally gobble up the boards tonight. I'm really worried.

All in all, I'm praying we can pull this off somehow. If Ben is back, that would at least be a massive boost and help us in a lot of areas. LeBron is gonna need to have a monster game too for us to have any chance, but he's got that cold ... so ... yeah. 20-0 would be so amazing but chances are we're fall short. This is a NOH team that causes us a load of mis-matches, is hot, is well-rested, plays stellar defense, is a good road team, shoots very well from downtown ... I guess it just never ends.

Match ups
CP 6-0==== Vs. MW 6-0 Or SP 6-7
RB 6-7==== Vs.SP 6-7 Or TK 6-6
PS 6-10==== Vs.LBJ 6-8
DW 6-9==== Vs.LW 6-11
TC 7-1==== Vs.AV 6-11
Couple things i want to see tonight.

#1. Ball Movement, Please no LeISO.
#2. Pavs on CP3, Mo or Kinsey on Butler.
Lakers Vs. Hornets. 4th Qtr. Kobe guards CP3, CP3 was really bothered.
Lakers Vs. Celtics. Kobe/Ariza guarded Rondo.
Lakers vs. Spurs. Kobe/Ariza guarded Parker. Parker tried getting into the paint but the length was bothering him. He was forced to pass.
#3. Don't camp @ the 3 point line. Attack the basket. Want to know why we only scored 6 points in the 4th Qtr last night? Almost 80% of our shots were outside the paint & 60% of them were 20+ footers
#4. Slow the game down. Don't go running down the court & take a shot with no one underneath the basket.
#5. Move your feet. We can't afford to double team tonight. Peja, Posey & Butler are all 40%+ from beyond the arc. Posey burned us in our last meeting.
#6. Did i say Attack The basket?

So Ben Wallace is playing? Good.

I'm going to the game tonight. They better effing win.

Sasha will score in double digits today if he starts, although I was reluctant to post yesterday that I saw the Chicago game as a very possible loss(people say jinx!), so I imagine this might be reversed this time with me being wrong haha.
