Game 38 | Hornets @ Cavaliers | Jan. 16th, 8:00PM (ET)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't be dreading a Hornets game at home, or you won't know what to call the feeling you experience when we get ready to play the Lakers on the road on Monday night.

I don't like our chances as much as I did before West got hurt but Cavs role players typically play better at home. A back-to-back after an OT game, though, not so fortunate.

I think by mondays game Vince Carter would have passed his physical already.

Even without the Delonte injury, this was going to be a tough game. Let me throw some pro/con knowledge your way.

CONS:
Not only is the back to back tough, but the Hornets are fully rested. That team also can have a three headed monster with Paul, Chandler, and West. I've watched enough CP3 games to see that even the best defender will struggle, so our best hope is to slow him down. No easy layups and no lobs to Chandler. Lebron steals come in the passing lanes, so I expect him to cherry pick a few from Paul. We also need to get David West out of his element, he has Z like reliability from mid-range. Of course, it's easier said than done, but if there is one team to exploit the Hornets weaknesses, its us.

PROS:
Lebron will not have two bad games in a row, he's a competitor and will be juiced for today's game. His post-Chicago comments were enough to make me believe he's ready. And that's not just Lebron, a loss for an elite team can change the momentum, I'm hoping last night was one of those. We also have home court advantage, and while I hate the idea of refs favoring the home team, I'm sure it'll help kill Hornet momentum if the favors do come. Delonte is out, but Ben Wallace is back, he can definitely help with the Hornet's bigs. We also learned from our mistakes last go round; meaning avoid sloppy ballhandling and don't let Posey camp out on the 3 point line.

Five of my friends and I will be rallying section 217 like nobody's business no matter the circumstances; and while this game does look gloomy, it's not a loss until it's played. Keep the faith Cavs fans.

Well the good thing about tomorrow night is going into the game we know we don't have Delonte so it's not as much as an adjustment as the Bull's game. Hopefully we'll come up with some better plays/movement offensively and we won't get a visit from my least favorite of the Lebrons, Le-Iso.

We need everyone to step up and don't worry about the home record, I'd rather lose it to a good team like the Hornets instead of a scrub team. Hopefully this will galvanize us as a team.

Le-Iso is our top remaining play with our current roster.

Yeah and that scares the hell out of me, hopefully Lebron feels better so he doesn't miss so many shots.

I'd like to see the Cavs buy time during other sections of the game with plays such as Mo's pick+roll on the right side of the court, or Gibson+Hickson pick and rolling (they seem to do it on the left side). Or LeBron down in the block. Or Mo pushing but holding on to the ball.

If we see LeBron trying to do 90% of all required, it is going to be an ugly game.

Dont forget about the other currently effective but not used enough play of Mo-Iso. Maybe we bust it out some this game. Make Paul work hard on defense.

It's funny people keep saying this. This team isn't the same as previous years when we have stumbled because of injuries, we still have our #2 offensive threat in Mo Williams.. Did no one notice that he was 9-16 (5-10 3PM-A) for 26 points last night? If Big Ben is back we will have a better defensive presence then last night. We just need to be able to get average production from Sasha, Boobie, and Wally, I see no reason why the team we have right now cannot win this game. LeBron doesn't need to go Le-Iso all game, hopefully he realizes it, because a lot of people on this forum haven't. Everyone was saying Le-Iso lost it for us because LeBron had a bad game, and I agree he had a VERY bad game, but that's not what hurt us, we gave up over 100 points. This team should be able to win when we score 90+, we need to pick it up on the defensive end tonight. If Ben is back, I think we do that.

Also, we are at home..we don't want that undefeated record to end.

i'm wonderng if lebron's sickness is going to get better or worse after a day. Hopefully its not what Ben had.

Hopefully Lebron and Ben are healthy. We need huge performances from Mo, Andy, and Boobie. Lorenzen, Sasha, JJ, Wally, etc. need to not suck.
