That was impressive. If you told me before the game that the Cavs would commit 19 turnovers, get just 3 offensive rebounds, and take 70 shots to 87 for the Hawks I'd say they will lose by 20. Instead they won by 12 thanks to great shooting and excellent defense. The Hawks had 16 turnovers.
For once the Cavaliers didn't collapse in the final three minutes. Instead they went on a 9-0 run and finished off the Hawks. Cedi had a five-point play when he hit two free throws on the clear path foul then knocked down a corner 3. He had a tremendous game with 23 points off the bench.
The fact that the Cavs beat the Hawks by 12 without LeVert, Wade, and with Love not being a factor (12 minutes, 0 points) is very impressive.
In the battle of the backcourts, Young was a -19 and Murray was 4-for-17. Garland and Mitchell combined for 55 points and 18 assists. However, Garland had eight turnovers so it was a mixed bag. He needs to do better.
The Hawks were averaging 115 points per game and got 102. Great defense and if not for all the turnovers that resulted in fast break buckets the Hawks would not have broken 100 and maybe not even 90. Considering the Cavs played last night it was an impressive performance on the second night of a back-to-back against a 10-6 team.
