NBA FINALS 2023: Miami Heat vs Denver Nuggets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh I think he’s far more skilled. (Jokic)… Giannis is not however— but Giannis does have the skill set, athleticism and power to be just as dominant.

Jokic can do it all tho. Outside, inside, post, around the rim, touch, can finish with either hand, can put in the floor, best passer in the game, high level rebounder.

I’ll give LeBron and Giannis the edge defensively.

Giannis doesn't have nearly Lebron's offensive bag, and he can't orchestrate a game like Lebron can. He's every bit as good attacking the basket and a great defender too. Also gets more ref love than Lebron though.

I can see Giannis falling off pretty hard in like four or five years because his game is a little one dimensional. Seems to work to keep himself in great shape though, despite his injuries.

In terms of legacy, the Jovic vs LeBron may boil down to Jokic deciding to stay in Denver or taking his talents to South beach..

I don’t agree but honestly I value highly how LeBron, in any series with any undermanned team, could be the best in the series and give his team a chance.

From your post “the only year his team was healthy”

In 2015 LeBron willed the Cavs to game 6 of the finals with Tristan Thompson and Delly as his fierce wingmen

I think Jokic would have been bounced much earlier in a similar circumstance

If you want to enter goat talk you need to rise to occasions in adversity. Jokic just gets a “his team was injured” pass that LeBron never really gets (besides from Cavs fans)
He didn't give us a chance in every series tho. Talking about prime Bron... Boston before he left we got owned. The Warriors the last 2 seasons we got owned. He got owned by the Spurs his last season in Miami. He also missed the playoffs his first season in LA, still close ish to prime Bron considering he won a title the next year.

So yeah LeBron is #2 in my opinion but Joker could rival him if he keeps this peak up and depending how many rings he wins. Gives you a chance in every series despite being undermanned is not true tho. He owned a weak East.

Even I was hesitate to say this, but now, he's in the ballpark.

No one has done what this guy has done. People realize that, right?

He's the only player in the HISTORY of the NBA to have a 30, 20, 10 triple double THREE TIMES!

There's only TWO players that's done it in the history of the NBA, once. Wilt and Kareem. They did it once!

This guy has done it three times.

Jokic to me has to be in the top-5 centers discussion. This guy is that good.
Wilt probably had more triple doubles than are recorded. No record was made of his blocks. In the 112 games we have of him on video, he averaged 8.5 blocks per game. An NBA statistician recorded him with 23 blocks in one game.

Giannis works really hard. He's still young. He may develop a jump shot. Then Katy bar the door.

Pace back then was crazy. Totally different game. Players just throwing up crap shots

Is every team that loses one that got owned?

Yeah, I think his skills aren't really elite, TBH. Not that he doesn't have really good skills. Of course you do, if you're someone like Giannis. When I think of elite skills, Joker, LeBron, Larry Bird, Jordan, Magic, etc, come to mind.

Giannis uses his athleticism and explosiveness a lot to his advantage. I don't think his game will age that great.

Not suggesting he won't still be really good, but I doubt elite, like other greats were later in their career.

He's a great player though. Second best player in the league.

Didn't Murray break some kind of assist record or something. Like 3 or 4 straight 10 assist finals games or something.

Something along those lines?

Also, and I'm not trying to argue(yet, lol) but get a better understanding.

What is the ballpark when we say Jokic is "in the ballpark" of Lebron?

Probably somewhere between 5 & 10.. Grouped in there with the LeBron tier…

It’s a tough call right now cause I want to put Jokic somewhere in that top 3 but the resume is just not filled out all the way. So for now you probably have to give the nod to LeBron, but as most are stating it’s really pretty close.
