A couple years ago I bought two sub woofers from a friend who needed extra cash - they are encased in wood housing covered in fabric. One is a MTX and one is a Dual. There is no sub kit and there is no amp. Just the subs and the housing. I never hooked them up but they work perfectly - The guy tested them for me before I bought them and they are LOUD.

The only con is that they are a little dirty with dirt and dust but that can be cleaned easily. In all, they are probably about 5 years old or so.

I bought them cheap for about 100$ for the two subs and the housing. I am willing to sell them for 80 or best offer. Anyone interested?

P.S. I am not sure on the wattage - just know that they shake the entire car and they are pretty awesome. Also... one good subwoofer runs from $70-$200 or more and the casing usually costs around 50$.

a $190+ dollar value for $80. I have to get rid of these things. They are sitting in my trunk and i need a little money.

Can I get mayo, lettuce, and tomato on the subs?

I've never heard of mix matching subs. When I had systems along time ago I thought the they had to be the same type of sub to get them to bang properly.

Actually it is the case if you want to install a system properly.
That doesn't mean they wont work, but you won't get peak performance out of anything that way. I've had systems my entire life and I've picked up a thing or two over the years.

Good luck with your ad though.

If they are the same specs and wattage I wouldn't see the difference? It's not like the amp will match up in brand either.

Thank you though. I'm thinking about trying Craigslist. I have no idea where else to sell these things other than E-Bay maybe.

Every company rates speakers differently, about 10 years ago when I had my system I had all Pioneer Premiere stuff. The amp and subs were rated at a much lower wattage than other brands but the shit would bang and they was much louder than 95% of the stuff on the market. After my first system I bought DEI CompX subs. The pioneer subs had a really thin excursion compared to the CompX didn't move as much air as the DEI's.

So the major differences in Subs
1. Ohms
2. DVC vs single voice coil
3. excursion
4. Air space needed
5. wattage ratings

The biggest thing with 2 different subs is they would both need to be the same ohms to get the best wattage out of the amp. But even if you have that different subs have a different punch too them.

With all that being said you aren't gonna sale those subs to anyone that knows stuff about systems. You'll probably sale them to a high school kid who just wants something to rattle his trunk. Fastest way to sale is on Craigslist.

Also I've never heard of TMX, I hope you mean MTX. MTX was a good brand, but Dual is for sure a shit brand.

Check out what you can get for 150.00 brand new from amazon with free shipping?

The amp can match up in brand. My first system was pioneer premier, the highs, the subs, the amps, and the deck.

When I bought DEI CompX, I think they made an amp for those too, but I ended up buying a different one. One of the speakers will be better than the other and one of them will sound like shit and totally distorted. Your friend should have included an amp too for $100.00.

Yes I meant MTX haha. And yes, Duals are shitty, but that'll be our little secret. ;)

Have you listed them on Craigslist? I think you could get 50-80 on there.

Id give you $10 for the box.
