Ahh, so this is why it was so hush-hush. I will be disappointed if this is some BS reason to keep him out of the WBC. It could also be that Perez is just being pig headed and the training staff put their foot down. With him, that is always a possibility.

My guess is that he thinks he is fine and they told him that they are shutting him down and not letting him pitch in the WBC and he is pissed about it.



Anyways, the guy is as good as gone after his contract up.

Or he is actually injured and thinks he can pitch through it. It's a typical response in the MLB to injury. He didn't want to be shut down and Antonetti and Tito forced him to shut it down. This will set him back quite some time, as he'll undoubtedly have to rehab after beginning to throw again.

Very possible that what you say is true, however. I guess we'll see.

Reds will take a big step backward this year imo.

Cueto and Latos are fine and all, but there are a ton of question marks on that team as well.
