What does Peterson's draft position have to do with anything? If you look back at that draft he'd probably go 2 or 3, behind only Megatron and possibly Joe Thomas. If Richardson proves to be as good as he looks, he's a good value at 4.
Oh, and Richardson said to tell you this:
It is actually interesting seeing that in slow motion. The guy has so much power. You can see the explosion coming from his lower body straight through his hips. His technique (low center of gravity) looks flawless. Im not promoting the guy, cause i have no idea what will happen at 4 (if we even pick there)-but i found that slow motion fascinating.
I'm really not sure why everyone would be so upset with Weeden..
I'm not rooting for the Browns to get Weeden, but if they draft him (as long as it's outside the 1st) then I'm not sure what the problem is... He's an upgrade at the QB spot and is a talented QB... Yes age is an issue but aside from that, he's a pretty good prospect...
Tannehill in the first round.
Weeden in the first round.
Justin Blackmon ahead of Claiborne or Richardson.
Osweiler before the third round.
Not making our pick in time, a la the Minnesota Vikings.
Oh, and Richardson said to tell you this:
:chuckles:
Any RB in the top 5. Sorry that is way too high for a RB. In the 70s or 80s or early 90s ok but not anymore...
Not taking a QB within the first 3 picks as that will set the team back farther than taking a QB would.
Blackmon in the top 10.
Weeden anywhere before round 4
Richardson at 4 (too high for a RB).
Kalil at 4 (again way too high for a RT)
Burfict anywhere in the draft (I may be interested if he went undrafted).
What exactly do you want us to do then? You seemed to have ruled out all the candidates at 4. You want Tannehill? Claiborne?
Ill just come right out and say it.
It's just ignorant to believe an elite running back doesn't do anything for an offense.
Im no fan of Colt long term, but he was vastly improved over his 2011 campaign when this team had a efficient running game.
Not really when the RB is going to face 9 men fronts all game long and doesn't have running lanes because no one fears the passing attack. At this point we would be lucky to have a RB hit 800 - 900 yards unless we hand the ball off over 40 times a game. However because of the pass first nature of the offense we won't be good (ie better than 6-10) until the QB position is addressed.
Not only that if you don't address the QB position this year and the attendance keeps going down because the team keeps loosing then the current regime won't be making the pick next year and we would be in yet another rebuild.
1st round QBs buys a regime time.
Not only that I think Doug Martin will have just as good of a career as Trent Richardson.
