2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A lot of people will not watch the video and go to the website directly. Dont be so quick to dismiss this being a clue that they are leaning towards MKG. He has been "pegged" as the number 2 prospect for weeks, and they are trying to generate interest. If you take a class on advertising you would know there is a rhyme and reason for everything. Not saying this means he is their pick 100 percent, but it does show they feel he is the guy that will generate the most interest in getting people to think about buying season tickets. They are trying to sell tickets, and they have chosen his image as the 1st one you see. It is not a complete coincidence.
Probably because whichever intern put the video together ended up compiling MKG footage first. IF you think Rich Cho or any of their top basketball operations people had anything to do with this video or daily maintenance of the website then you're out of your mind.

still there is a reason he is the 1st highlight. This is obvious and they will try to spin.

Not sure I follow... If they're going to do a compilation, doesn't SOMEONE have to be first?

Trust me, the basketball people care more about doing their due diligence than they do about some petty subliminal advertising tactic. They may very well go with MKG at #2, but this video is completely irrelevant to that.

why not Anthony Davis first? He is the sexy name and technically he is still on the board. I know in reality he is not an option, but obviously these are guys that have the highest chance of being the selection. They are trying to get fans excited, and statistically, most people skip the video and go to the website. They see MKG with an add to Buy Season Tickets and right under Bobcats get the number 2 pick. Do you think they would put Jared Sullinger as the image? It may not be as random as you think.

To be honest at 1st I did not even realize it was video. That is why I added" the spin." They wont need to spin now that I see it is video of several prospects, but it still tells me a little bit about who they feel would generate the most interest. Again not saying this means CHA takes MKG, but it is not like "anyone" could have been the image that people see.

I think everyone's going way to deep in it. They probably don't even know who they are going to draft yet themselves. There's still draft workouts, interviews, etc.

And why on EARTH would Cho decide to give that out to their website maintenance to put up that video?

It could also be to motivate other teams who might be interested in trading up for MKG (ie the Cavs).

CBS' Jeff Goodman has an interesting mock draft that has us taking Barnes over MKG:

Pick No. Team Pick Analysis
No. 1 Anthony Davis, 6-10, 220, PF/C, Fr., Kentucky
The Hornets won the lottery and get the future star. Davis is a shot-blocking freak, but is also skilled on the offensive end -- and can be a franchise-changing player.
No. 2 Bradley Beal, 6-3, 207, SG, Fr., Florida
The Bobcats need just about everything -- which is why the Bobcats could use a guy like Beal. He is extremely versatile -- and his biggest strength is his ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter.
No. 3 Andre Drummond, 6-10, 270, C, Fr., UConn
It's difficult to pass up on someone as big, strong and talented as Drummond. He can be a monster -- if Randy Wittman can find a way to motivate him to play hard all the time.
No. 4 Harrison Barnes, 6-8, 215, SF, Soph., North Carolina
The Cavs need a perimeter shooter -- and that's exactly what Barnes does well. He's also extremely tight with Cavs floor leader Kyrie Irving. In fact, they even share the same agent.

No. 5 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, 6-7, 232, SF, Fr., Kentucky
MKG brings a winning attitude and a toughness to the table. He's a team guy who can really get after it on the defensive end. The Kings have enough scorers. This is the ideal fit.
No. 6 Thomas Robinson, 6-9 1/2, 237, PF, Jr., Kansas
T-Rob is an ideal complement to the skilled Lamarcus Aldridge. Robinson is a relentless power forward who will rebound and become a decent scorer due to his pursuit of the ball.
No. 7 Jared Sullinger, 6-9, 265, PF/C. Soph., Ohio State
The Warriors need help down low -- and Sullinger can score in the post and will be a force on the glass.
No. 8 Jeremy Lamb, 6-5, 180, SG, Soph., UConn
The Raptors desperately need someone that can fill it up from the perimeter. As long as Lamb doesn't have to be "The Man," he'll be fine. Tremendous potential and he will give Dwayne Casey a much-needed sniper.
No. 9 Tyler Zeller, 7-0, 250, PF/C, Sr., North Carolina
Zeller is a solid pick here. He runs the court exceptionally well, can score in the post and is a good rebounder. He's also capable of being a pick and pop power forward.
No. 10 Meyers Leonard, 7-1, 245, C, Soph., lllinois
The Hornets have a can't miss guy already in Davis. Why not roll the dice on another big-time talent in Leonard, a legitimate 7-footer who is a freak athlete and could become a top-tier center in the league if he matures.

I don't see the Wizards picking Drummond when they already have Nene & Seraphin at center. Besides, Drummond is not all that different from JaVale McGee, who they traded away at the deadline.

There's also lots of people that think Portland (#6) and Goldenstate (#7) are ready to trade picks for vets.

In that case... Good riddance Andy!! We enjoyed your time in Cleveland. Maybe Andy and both second rounders for either of those picks..?

No kidding. If any team is crazy enough to give up a lottery pick for Andy, heck yeah, I'm all over it!
