2012 NBA Free Agents

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Literally no risk in bringing him in for the minimum. He's a great depth signing for cheap & has shown he can spread the floor.

From deep, he's shot below 35.5% only twice and below 37% only four times in his 11 year career.

True, but he couldn't guard my grandma at this point in his career.... and he was never really a good defender to begin with.

Yes, but Chicago has a terrific defensive system already in place, and I'm assuming they'd have just the 1 use for him at this point.

I realize we're arguing about a bit player, so allow me to deviate from the topic slightly...

I realize Chicago has a great defensive system, but how many weak cogs can the system support?

I think Radmanovic counts for two weak defensive cogs by himself. One for the man he can't guard and two for the help defender that has to try to save him every play.

No doubt he's a horrible defender.

But I also have no doubt that Thibodeau can make it work somehow in the limited minutes Vlad will see.

Just don't see the risk at signing a very good shooter to a minimum contract for depth.

people seem to think we're looking at c.j. to replace gee or to change his position on signing, but could it be for depth at the 2?

Restricted Free Agent Robin Lopez apparently traded to Hornets in 3 team deal:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The Hornets, Suns and Timberwolves have agreed to a multiplayer trade sending 7-foot center Robin Lopez and forward Hakim Warrick from Phoenix to New Orleans, while moving forward Wesley Johnson and a first-round draft pick from Minnesota to Phoenix, a person familiar with the deal said.

The person told The Associated Press about the trade on condition of anonymity Wednesday because it has not been announced pending the completion of some routine logistical matters.

The deal also sends guard Jerome Dyson and retiring center Brad Miller's $5.1 million contract from New Orleans to Minnesota, allowing the Timberwolves to clear space under the NBA's salary cap as they pursue free agents. Minnesota also will receive two second-round draft picks from New Orleans, while the Hornets will receive cash.

Minnesota general manager David Kahn declined to confirm the deal when asked about it on a conference call Wednesday, saying only that he is "not allowed to comment on anything that hasn't been consummated."

The acquisition of Lopez fills a need at center for the Hornets, who traded away Emeka Okafor and let Chris Kaman go in free agency.

Something is wrong in this report. Brad Miller played for Minnesota last season. I assume he's going to the Hornets, to clear cap space for the Wolves.

Brad Miller's contract was already traded from Minnesota to Hornets in an earlier transaction. Later corrections from the Suns beat writer Paul Coro said that as part of the Lopez trade, Miller's contract would be going to the Suns (and "he" or "it" would be waived for $800K) and not back to the Wolves.

Coro says the deal isn't completely finished, even though it has been reported widely. He called it 50/50 tonight: Robin Lopez deal to New Orleans Hornets has speed bumps

Again, not sure how reliable this twitter page is (also posted something from them in the Gee thread), this is the description on the twitter page:

That being said, we've heard this Rip rumor before & it wouldn't surprise me if this is legit (also considering we've been linked to Michael Redd & other names to fill a veteran void):

Chicago Bulls have put all efforts in attempting to move Rip to Cleveland but sources indicate the Cavs are pursuing "other" free agents
