Who needs quality FAs? The Browns like washed up vets like Fujita who miss half the games and bums like Usama Young who just suck dick.

The Browns will continue to go after guys "like" Usama Young.

Young was a safety on a veteran defense who couldn't get serious playing time because he was on a team with a ton of depth at safety. As a result, his lack of playing time wasn't necessarily a sign of an inability to play, it was just a by-product of the Saints being unable to waste time developing a project while trying to contend for a championship.

The Browns took a low-risk flyer that perhaps, with a chance to develop, he could become a solid starter in the NFL. It didn't pan out, but these are smart risks.

Seeking a young LB on the Browns bench to become a starter next season would be a bad bet in the NFL. Looking for a young LB on the Steelers bench to become a starter next season would be much smarter. If you can't find playing time on a shitty team, you are probably a shitty player. But good teams don't necessarily have the time or energy to waste developing young talent when they are pursuing a title.
