2012 Opening Series vs Blue Jays -|- April 5th, 7th, and 8th.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Normally, I'd agree that your closer is your closer and you stick with your guy. However, Perez is a rare pitcher in that he usually either dominates or blows, with very little middle ground. I love Acta and think he's an excellent manager, but I do think a flaw of his is not pulling the plug on an ineffective pitcher when it's obvious that he doesn't have it. It may have been unconventional to pull him for Pestano, but so be it. It's also unconventional to start almost all LHH and to have power at 2B and SS but not 1B or 3B. Sometimes you have to throw "conventional" out the window to win a ballgame. Hell, Farrell did it with Omar playing "left field" and it paid off.

Yeah, easy to say after the fact...per the usual with you of course.

Petsano was throwing 89-90 as well.

Every manager pretty much abides by this rule, don't pull him until he blows it.

Simple fact of baseball. Feel free to prove me wrong with examples of teams pulling their closer.

Didn't see Leyland pulling Valverde today, although it was clear he didn't have it.

Didn't see the Tigers game but Valverde: 1 inning, 3h, 2r, 0BB, 1SO, 16 strikes, 6 balls

Perez: 2/3 inning, 3h, 3r, 2BB, 0SO, 17 strikes, 14 balls

Basically, the Indians don't have a legitimate long term closer and will need to develop one.

Pestano & Smith both have the makeup to be the closer. Pestano IS the future closer

Stayed for the whole game yesterday. I can't stand people who leave after the 9th and any inning after that, if you got small kids that's one thing but jesus, the game isn't over til it's over. I basically paid for 2 games, saw the benches clear in the 15th inning and watched the longest opening day game in MLB history all for $16 seats. The fans were giving it to Baustista yesterday too that was funny, and the Indians really need to upgrade their "scream team" or whatever the hell you call them cause those girls "Woof". The one had sunglasses on and you're thinking alright not bad solid 6.5 then she takes them off and WOW 4.5-5 tops. Sunglass effect, can't stand it.

Another thing from yesterday. Bleacher seats are $10 but so is a 24oz can of Bud Light, holy shit that is fucking ridiculous. That's my take on yesterday and I'm looking pretty good on my 9-153 prediction.

Yesterday would have been fantastic with the all you can eat seats or whatever they are called.

Go to a stand that sells a 12 oz PBR or Iron City for $4.50 and just buy 2.

Or I could go get a plastic cup and fill it with my own piss and it would be the same thing and cheaper.

How did the fans react to Perez blowing it?

This is why I wear sunglasses. To avoid the fact that I actually wear real glasses. :chuckles:

We booed him off the field. The loudest booing I have heard at a Tribe game. Second to booing LeBron. I'm sure he threw a bitch fit in the clubhouse afterwards.

Just need to win the next two. I honestly think we can pull at least one, if not two from the Jays.
