Normally, I'd agree that your closer is your closer and you stick with your guy. However, Perez is a rare pitcher in that he usually either dominates or blows, with very little middle ground. I love Acta and think he's an excellent manager, but I do think a flaw of his is not pulling the plug on an ineffective pitcher when it's obvious that he doesn't have it. It may have been unconventional to pull him for Pestano, but so be it. It's also unconventional to start almost all LHH and to have power at 2B and SS but not 1B or 3B. Sometimes you have to throw "conventional" out the window to win a ballgame. Hell, Farrell did it with Omar playing "left field" and it paid off.
